Smartphone Interior Photography - The Room I/III

Hello fellow Steemians!

Sometime ago, I slept over at a friend's place. He lives almost in the middle of the woods and I intended on waking up early and walk around to take a few pictures with my "proper" camera. Woke up at 7AM and the weather was awful - rain and wind all over. Bad weather is not necessarily synonymous with bad photos - quite the opposite, actually. But on this particular day, I didn't even have the right clothes to venture into such an hostile environment.

Frustration began to take hold of me, because I went there with the sole purpose of snapping some shots. That lasted for the next 3 or 4 minutes - until I sat up on the bed.

Noticing the light that was coming through the window, I reached for - you guessed it - my phone and started shooting.

Spent about an hour trying different things, many of which, as is often the case, didn't even merit releasing the shutter.

When all was said and done, I had a few pictures that I was happy with and a sweet creative stretch right at the start of the day.

I'll be sharing my 3 favorites, starting with this one.

Although I was not consciously looking for it, it carries a similar mood to Todd Hido's interior work.
Hido is one of the biggest names in contemporary photography and huge source of inspiration for me.

Olá Steemianos!

Há algum tempo, fui dormir a casa de um amigo que vive numa zona bastante isolada, quase no meio da floresta. A ideia era acordar cedo para fazer uma caminhada fotográfica com a câmara "a sério". Acordei às 7 da manhã e o tempo estava péssimo - chuva e vento intensos.
Más condições climatéricas nem sempre são sinónimos de más fotografias, muito pelo contrário; mas neste caso específico, nem sequer estava equipado para um clima tão hostil.

A frustração começou a tomar conta de mim, porque fui lá com o objectivo de fotografar. Durou uns 3 ou 4 minutos - até me sentar na cama.

Reparei logo na luz que entrava pela janela e agarrei - adivinharam - no iPhone para começar a fotografar.

Fiquei cerca de uma hora a experimentar diferentes enquadramentos, sendo que a grande maioria, como é costume, nem mereceu que disparasse o obturador.

No final, para além de algumas fotos que me agradavam, tinha feito um belo exercício criativo logo ao início do dia.

Vou partilhar as 3 de que mais gosto desta sessão, começando por esta.

Ainda que inadvertidamente, a ambiência lembra-me os interiores do Todd Hido.
Hido é um dos nomes sonantes da fotografia contemporânea e uma grande fonte de inspiração para mim.
