Scottish Highlands - Invermoriston bridge in autumnal look
Hi Folks!
Today another, not very famous, but worth visitng spot in scottish Highlands - old, stone bridge in Invermoriston.
Driving south from Inverness, next to famous Loch Ness lake, half way the lake You will cross Invermoriston town...or a village ;).
There, we can drive south, to Fort William or we can turn right towards Dornie and Isle of Skye. Close to that road, on our left, we will pass by the new Invermoriston bridge. The old one is just on the right side of it.
River is called Glenmoriston. Its shores are very high, big rocks, below so we have to be really careful exploring the area.
River generate some cascades and small waterfalls on the way. it is hard to reach the bottom, but it is possible in few spots near the bridge.
Weather wasn't great when we stopped there, it was still early morning, but I managed to catch some nice colours of the surrounding autumnal forest.
Autumn season is perfect time of the year - many different species of trees are changing colours that time and we can explore small park area next to the bridge. Old, magical, beech forest. Waters of the river looks almost black which make a nice contrast. Why it is black? It is probably red, but from the distance, looks like really dark brown/black.
Nice place to stop by on the way to Isle os Skye, Inverness or Fort William - depend of the direction of Your trip.
Hope You enjoyed watching! Take care and UNTIL THE NEXT ONE!

Beautiful post. Such a beautiful country Scotland, been there just once but will come back for sure to make a grand tour. Will keep this place in mind when visiting.
It is maybe not worth to go there especially but it is worth visiting "one the way" :).
