Hello Friends,

Todays project focuses on a horse from our Blue Heron Studios Public Domain - Horse Collection. As I sat at my computer ready to bring you another photo piece I began to reminisce of my childhood.

I grew up in Greenville, North Carolina on my family ancestral lands. I most enjoyed spending my time with my Godmother Marion Jordan and one of the things she would always do was try to have me appreciate mother earth and the animals that inhabit it.

Her son, my older cousin, lived on a piece of the land to which he grew some vegetables and raised many animals. He raised dogs, chickens, rabbits, fish, a ferret, and a few horses at one point. If we included the geckos that crawled on the outside of his house and the animals that roamed the neighboring woods the animals that we around us were incredible.

My personal animals ranged from dogs, turtle, mouse, duck, fish, and more.

Once upon a time I was given a horse by my Godmother and cousin. I was very young at the time and I'm sure this was more figurative, but it lit up my world. Coco quickly became my friend and his memories lives with me to this day.

This horse from our Blue Heron Studio Archive seemed like the perfect photo to enhance sense I currently do not have photos of him nearby.

He looked very similar to this.

He was Brave.

He was Bold.

Coco was great friend.
