A First Step in Food

Food photography has always been a struggle of mine. I've tried, but the photos have always come out looking, well, just "off" or unappealing. However, going back through photos I took this summer, I realized that this photo can, and should be considered one of food. It's a little different though. It's not a picture of plates on a table. It is a photo of the absolute base level of where the food is, from the life that gave it to provide. I would love to hear what you all think!
