A Sea of Green and Yellow
Japan is home to two types of fireflies, Genji and Heike (sometimes called Kin).
Genji are like the ones above and below, the create a slow pulsing green light source which when photographing them creates these cool light trails. Heike are yellow and the pulse a lot quicker so that they create small dots of colour
Every summer around May- June i head out to look for these beautiful creatures to watch them dance. The Genji are my favourite but they're not as common as the Heike and are not as easy to find. I've spent many nights out with other photographers and coming home without seeing any, but when you do find them it's always worth the hunt.
Check out some more of my images below and let me know which are your favourite and let me know what you think.
I'll be posting a lot more of my photography daily, so please follow me and upvote my images.
Thanks.
Much Love
J

Woww... they look magical :)
Love the shot with a jar!
Thanks Ewkaw. The jar shot was particularly difficult and time consuming as compared to the rest. :)

Thanks Mattepella. These are all variations of the different species of fireflies that we get in Japan.
Impressive - both the fireflies and your photography skills. I come here from the link you dropped at the Asia photo challenge. Love your works here. Keep it up! =)
