Natural Bridge at Shark Fin Cove in California

Shark Fin Cove

Shark Fin Cove is right next to Panther Beach, which I featured in my previous post. Shark Fin has this awesome natural bridge. I took the shot to make it look like a sea cave, but it is not. There is another opening behind the camera just as big as the one I am standing in. Both of these beaches are part of the Coastal Diaries State Park in California. This natural bridge is a very popular spot for photographers and you either have to be patient or lucky to get it all by yourself. I was lucky on this day.

I really like how you described this shot. So much of photography is a stroke of luck and a dash of ingenuity. Turning a bridge into a cave is genius. Love that you broke the fourth wall by sharing that :)

Dude, awesome shot. Reminiscent of the X Files. I assume this was low tide?

Thanks! Lower tide, it gets even lower then this, I have seen it have a bit of a beach in front of it. I was able to walk out and turn to the right and connect with the rest of the beach without getting wet. That said I have also seen it go all the way through and come out the other side of the bridge.
