This was one of my first times seeing the Columbia River Gorge and I was really surprised to see such a large and powerful river standing still. We had arrived the day before and the waves were really choppy and I remember thinking, this would be amazing if it ever stood still, and assuming that would be a really rare occurrence. It turns out this is not so rare, it is somewhat common on overcast or foggy mornings, which is most mornings in the PNW. We found a really great spot to camp along side the river, when I woke up and looked out the window I was blown away at the flawless reflection. These photos where taken from the Lewis and Clark Hwy in Washington near Tunnel Lake. I did not get very many shots off but am very grateful I got out of bed when I did. The moment was short lived as it started raining, messing up the still water before I got a chance to find more angles.

Excellent shots man. Love the reflection of the water on either side. You certainly go to a lot of cool places! How often do you find yourself travelling in a given year?

It's always changing but I moved into a truck camper and started traveling in 2013. At first it was all traveling but now that I am trying to save up for a new rig I have done a lot of staying put and working. Overall the average has been close to 50/50, traveling and staying put working. My first staying put to work stint was 1 month and now I have been in San Francisco for 8 months and plan on sticking around for approx 1 more month. This is to get a new rig though and be all set up for a very long time of cheap and minimalistic back country traveling.

You're living the dream buddy! That's awesome that you're so mobile and that you get to see so many things. You must have great stories about being on the road. What new rig are you saving for? And what's your next destination after San Fran? So curious. I live vicariously through your photos.

Thanks man! My mind is always changing so its hard to say what my rig will be or where I will go. Once the time is right i'll buy the best rig I can with whatever money I have. There is no real destination for me just a journey to be had and the weather will most likely dictate my first direction.

Beautiful. I love how that curving road draws the viewer in closer to the reflections!

Such a beautiful area the river is like a mirror superb
