Sun on the Sandur
A very pleasant Icelandic sunset
I loved this part of the country. Which part is this, you ask? This was on a side road from the Ring Road, a little ways east from Höfn, which is along the southeastern coast of the island.
The rocks and fall-coloured shrubbery reminded me of the Isle of Skye (from photos that I've seen from that part of Scotland), but the sandur (glacial outwash) is distinctly Iceland.

Very cool! I know what you mean about the Isle of Skye, we've done a bit of exploring around there but Iceland is definitely on our list. I've seen lots of photos where it's kind of tricky to tell whether it's Scotland or Iceland, might have to do some more exploring up in Scotland!!
Yeah, I would love to actually visit the Isle of Skye and other parts of Scotland - looks like my kind of place!
