This 150-year-old building, which used to house the harbour customs, was transformed into restaurants. Today it houses many restaurants with open fires and if you are a fish and meat lover this is definitely the place to visit. We have been a few times and food is excellent. This market is located in the old historic part of town, so after lunch its nice to take a stroll around and see the historic architecture, much of which has been restored to its former glory. I can highly recommend a visit to Ciudad Vieja to any tourist wanting to see and live the real Uruguayan experience.
