The Perseids
Back in August I made a trip to the Sawtooth Mountains of Idaho with the goal to photograph the Perseid Meteor shower. I made the trip with @jarvie and Brandy A. Lee and met up with a couple other photographers while we were there.
I had 3 cameras going in different directions and compositions throughout the night, though there were large gaps from times when my batteries died and I fell asleep.
This photo is the result of just one of those cameras. It spans from 11:43 PM until 4:30 AM, with about an hour and 15 minutes missing. It took 580 photos and I had about 80 frames with at least one shooting star, and some with two or three.
The Perseid meteor shower is my favorite shower (besides my morning shower of course) of the year, simply because it produces the most meteors. It's also the perfect time of year where you can camp out under the stars and watch them.
Consider this my Christmas gift to your eyes! :D
Merry Christmas!

Woot! Resteemed!
Wow, this is really cool. I love how the Andromeda is.
Dude! That's amazing. What's that green in the sky?
Thanks! The green is airglow
Ah. OK. :)
