The yellow bishop, Cape bishop, Cape widow[2] or yellow-rumped widow (Euplectes capensis)
The yellow bishop is a weaver bird commonly found in South Africa, the male has a beautiful black plumage with bright yellow spots during mating season (sadly I don't have a picture of one for this post). The female is a pale yellow color with darker color stripes all over her body.
Here is a female perched on some lavender plants in the Rietvlei Nature Reserve in the Table View suburb of Cape Town South Africa.
