Beach Walk Findings 👣 After The Storm

in #photocircle6 years ago

Look what the storm left for us!

One of those red stones, not jasper, it is
more like a piece of red brick but not.
I'd like to know what this rock is!
Maybe @snowyknight knows?

shasta2018nov7th47beach17io.jpg

Yep a whole lotta driftwood and other
goodies! This was fresh and ripe for
picking out nice specimens.

Driftwood is covering the whole road, there
is a park at the end. Deep creek runs along
the hill and into Cook Inlet.

shasta2018nov7th47beach4io.jpg

Here is one of those nice chunks.
To big for me to carry tho lol

shasta2018nov7th47beach5io.jpg

A lost sole.

shasta2018nov7th47beach6io.jpg

Looking all around, up and down.

shasta2018nov7th47beach7io.jpg

I see a old fishing net float.
Not a glass one.
Glass ones are found
sometimes, they are very old.

shasta2018nov7th47beach16io.jpg

Now this was a sweet treat, facing
west a nice driftwood reflection
going on.

shasta2018nov7th47beach15io.jpg

Ok facing south check out the storm
battered road! Then look at the level
the tide is, that is about medium tide
not real low, not real high, but when
the storm was blowing it ate the road
and exposed more pipe.

shasta2018nov7th47beach10io.jpg

Where they last rolled in different rows.

shasta2018nov7th47beach11io.jpg

Old big stump, it has been around awhile.
You can see more road damage here
and the sandy, gravel bluffs.

shasta2018nov7th47beach20io.jpg

Last year 2017 same stump on a nicer day
It got moved around and cut up by saws
after a few days of this years storm.

shasta2018nov7th47beach14io.jpg

Earlier in the season around July the charter
fishing folks set up the wares. Tractors to
launch and pull in the fishing boats.
In above photo is where they were, where
all the drift wood is covering the road.

shasta2018nov7th47beach18io.jpg

Now you see them then you don't.
All packed up and gone for the season
before the storm.

Can just see the road that was later
eroded to the far right near the inlet.
It is just a short side road mostly for
dumping fish guts.

shasta2018nov7th47beach2io.jpg

A special circle for the fans!
Closer view of this red stone
and those grey rocks seem to
be smiling next to it.

Really beautiful and refreshing #walkwithme @shasta! Thank you for the tour at "medium tide" <3 <3

Thank you so much ❤ @lyndsaybowes!
You are most welcome, was my first #walkwithme.
Medium tide is a pretty good time, going out, or
coming in, it's always nice to see the sea :-)

LOVE the image of the driftwood reflection. Must be wonderful to collect ~ Great as garden features and could be interesting to make 'things' with. ♥︎♥︎⚖️♥︎♥︎

Thank you very much 💕 @allyinspirit!
Been collecting wood as long as been collecting
rocks lol Some pieces are so cool! Really looks
like different critters.
Ever see the driftwood horses and other
animals online? Artist Heather Jansch

No, hadn't seen them before. Pretty amazing. I'd love some tall pieces of driftwood for growing things like orchids and bromeliads over. ♥︎♥︎⚖️♥︎♥︎
