Wonderful old times in the darkroom.
Specific smell of chemistry, paper, enlarger.
It was fun but a bit expensive.
Film 24/36 frames, each photo had to be rethought.
And now you are doing 10 photos and choosing the best :)
We also have greater opportunities to process and modify photos.
You chose beautiful pictures today.
Congratulations to the authors :)
I just wish to experience developing a film at least once in my life :) I agree when you said its more expensive, but it should be rewarding.
By the way, we will organize photo contests in a week or 2, I will be glad for you to join my friend :)
Hmmm... Interesting fact.
I wish I could still get hold of some good ol' film... I miss the days of the darkroom! : )
Great photos and photographer choice today!!
I wish I could experience doing it, wondering how it feels looking at the picture as it slowly develop :)
Glad that you like the selections, Thanks for your support to the project.
To be honest it probably wasn't the healthiest place to be... in a small dark room with a bunch of chemicals... I quite liked the smell though. I loved been in there... it was always cool, calm and quiet... it was an environment like no other and it was always fun to dabble and experiment manually with your photos and then watch them come to life. I do like something to hold in my hand but I too am guilty of keeping everything digitally now.
If you think about today now... we barely print a photo ever... it's quite sad really. While the digital world is amazing as far as being able to take as many photos as we like with no expense of film and developing, we've lost the physical aspect of the art.
That's true, in one of the daily post, I mentioned that the chemicals used are bad for health :D but I'm also intrigue on how it will be printed by hand, I'm already used to the tech that we have now.
I have to agree also that we seldom or never print at all, I even have a discussion with @alcibiades about this, he gave me the motivation to print my photos, which I plan to do soon. I'm currently selecting my own photos that I will print and will share my experience to Steemit soon :).
Regards,
@funtraveller
Oh I'll have to keep my eye out for that one! I printed some a short while back when I made a photo gallery wall in my hall, does that count?? Lol. I was making photo books at one point too which I was enjoying, it is always nice to flick through the memories! : )
That's so true ;) nothing can beat the the actual print of your own photos, a single print could surpass a dozen of digital photos ;)
Sometimes it's just nice to have something to physically touch! : )
I also liked to sit in the darkroom :) and inhale the fumes :-P :D
Lol... yep, there's just something about that smell! :D
Beautiful photos everyone! Thank you for the feature @photocircle! That made my day.
Your amazing shots deserve it :) Im glad that it made your day, have a great weekend!
Thank you, you too!
