Today I would like to show you some pictures and a timelapse video about munich. a few months ago i had written a german post about my city this was a contest by @theaustrianguy

Munich is the third largest city in Germany with 1.5 million inhabitants. From here it is possible to see the Alps.

Due to its proximity to the Alps, Munich is the snowiest city in Germany.

Among the most important historical buildings and squares of the city is the Marienplatz with the New and Old City Hall, the Theatinerkirche, the Odeonsplatz and the Pinakotheken.

The picture is taken from Alten Peter ( Church ). You can walk up there and enjoy the magnificent view over Munich. Right on the edge you can see the Old City Hall. In the middle is the new City Hall where FC Bayern celebrates its championships. On the left you can see the Frauenkirche.

After losing a lot of energy by climbing up and down the stairs, you can regenerate yourself in the nearby Hofbeauhaus. They have good roast pork there;)

The tranquility of the city can be found in the English Garden, the largest city park in Europe.

Further tranquility can also be found on the Isar, it rises in the Alps in the Tyrolean part of the Krawendel in Hinterautal. In the summer you can always see people riding their rafts on the Isar.

The Oktoberfest attracts millions of visitors annually in the last decades. It is the largest folk festival in the world. The guests come more and more from abroad, mainly from Italy, from the USA, Japan and Australia. In the recent years, there has been a rising trend of many Oktoberfest visitors coming dressed in Lederhosen or Dirndl.
