DO'S and DONT'S when your phone takes a dive in water.

I recently experienced this with my phone. So whatever I tell you here is from my experience. And it contains all the steps I took to remedy the situation. Although it was frightening to see my phone underwater. I was able to save it and I think you can too by being prepared for such an accident before it occurs.

Firstly, when your phone falls in water you must quickly get it out because the longer it stays there the greater the damage. Do this and you have a greater chance of saving it.

Don't let it stay on if on after you have removed it from the water put it off quickly by removing the battery if it isn't inbuilt. If it is an inbuilt battery just put it off first . This helps to prevent short circuiting of your phone. Then you can get help in removing the battery later.

If it was already off when you tried to remove it from the water do not try to put it on we can only hope that we can still save it here.

Remove all smaller accessories of the phone such as sim cards, battery, memory card, phone casing this is to let the free flow of water out of the phone quickly to prevent further damage such as component corrosion. Your phone cannot work well with corrosive internal components. Then you can dab it dry with a paper towel.

You can then disassemble the phone to dry it first with a vacuum cleaner only do this if you are fond of voiding your warranty. Don't do it if you so not have the knowledge of disassembling a phone in order not to damage your phone. If you are so concerned about your warranty you can check if water voids it before doing this. If you do not have a vacuum cleaner make use of a fan or put it in a sunny place in order to suck all the liquid out.

Finally don't put the phone in a bag filled with rice although it is somewhat conventional it is not the best practice. Rather make use of silica gel which is a better drying agent. Don't make use of an oven, microwave or a hair drier they can cause heat damage to the phone.

After doing this you can then try putting on the phone sincerely if you have followed the above guide perfectly you will have a 60 - 70% chance of saving your phone which depends primarily on how long it spent underwater.
NOTE: If it fell in dirty water or saltwater rinse it with flowing clean water immediately you get it out.

POSSIBLE CONSEQUENT PROBLEMS
The problems listed here are what I experienced first hand and nothing more.

Slow boot time
When this occurs your phonespends more Tim's in the boot screen than normal. Sorry but you will have to do a factory reset to bring it back to normal. Don't make the mistake of thinking it is in a boot loop and do not clear your EMMC memory. But back up your data before attempting this.
If this wasn't caused by the water i.e your phone does this normally then you can try uninstalling some apps such as zedge, vidmate and truecaller these apps startup during boot time and need to be optimized. If you do not have such apps you can check which apps used the most battery during startup and uninstall them.

Screen Touching Itself
This occurs when the screen carries out some commands without you touching that part of the screen. Then you have to disassemble it and let the water which is causing this dry.

If you experience more problems remember google is your friend and you can also try out some sites like https://www.lifewire.com , https://stackoverflow.com and https://www.ifixit.com .
I hope this helped I would appreciate it if you have any objections to the post written in the comments.
