The ruins stand where civilizations should be still thriving. People hate different.

How come people still believe that different cultures can live in peace and harmony? I don't say it never happens, but historically, when different cultures clashes, people die. Take Spanadiars for example; they came to Central/South America and wiped all the local civilizations from the Earth.

It was such a bitchy move, but because it happened 500 years ago, it somehow doesn't count anymore.

I mean, just imagine if Australians killed all Europeans today and left Paris, London, Berlin, and other cities as old ruins. That wouldn't be cool, right?

That said, people believe that our race is evolving to the point where all the different cultures can live as one. I wish it was true, but it is not. That is why I believe that until everyone learns how to live in harmony, people should avoid mixing between cultures. Nothing good ever comes from that.

Ironically, I am the same guy who thinks that we are all equal and same just in different packages. Sadly, those packages still matter in our world full of inadequate religion, nationalism, and labeling. I would give a lot for the world to change, but as long as it doesn't, we must play by the rules. The main rule:

When two cultures clashes, only stronger one survives.

Poor Mayans had to sacrifice their glorious civilization; poor Mayans watched how Spanadiars wiped their existence.

Why couldn't Spanadiars come with peace? I don't get it. It seems it's for granted that people with different views have to destroy each other to prove the point.

The end result?

Instead of living in magnificent Mayan temples, we can only admire it as tourists. Instead of civilizations, we have the ruins.

Your article reminds me to this one I wrote a while ago.
I think it's possible depending on all of us

Yeah, it is a nice article @mammasitta. I also want to believe that it is possible, but just not yet I guess. It is a utopia for a reason, right?
