Another strategy is built through horizontal links, violence is replaced by law, the institution of private property requires more complex organization of public relations in the form of democratic procedures, civil code and other inclusive institutions. Primitive groups are already marginalized in such a society, and egalitarian groups dominate.

Vicious and Beneficial Circles

In societies dominated by primitive groups, a vicious cycle of blocking creation is created. Since the leaders have the full right to control someone else's property, incentives for building up, producing goods and services are lost. More efficient is distribution.

Access, to which depends on the position in the hierarchy, and not on the mind, diligence and ingenuity. Such societies tend to live off rent from agriculture, hydrocarbons, natural and fossil resources.

At the lowest level of the hierarchy, there are usually poorly educated people who are easy to manage. They are willing to spend a penny on privileged estates for a penny. The cost of human life in such societies is extremely small: "women are still giving birth".

As I said before about the achievement of equilibrium through the theory of games "five pirates" in such communities, people compete among themselves for pennies, they are ready to agree with the appropriation by the leaders of the basic rental income. As a result, a vicious cycle of polarization of the society into the rich and the poor is created.

The less one gets to the lower strata of the population, the fiercer the struggle between people for the manifestation of loyalty feelings, the less bones they can throw from the master's table, the fiercerly the vertical becomes stronger, the war of all against everyone. In such conditions, there is only one hope for the tsar-father, that the boyars should besiege, not giving people life.

This is how the mechanism of society's polarization works on the rich and the poor, the rich get richer, the poor become poorer. The more wealth is concentrated in the upper classes, the greater the expected premium from rebellion and the seizure of higher places in the hierarchy, the greater the premium from access to control of the distribution of rental income.

This creates incentives for the seizure of power and coups. The new government, which usually goes to fight under the slogans of justice, equality and brotherhood, immediately establishes its vertical, the iron law of the hierarchy works and everything repeats itself again. Such countries are generally underdeveloped without sustainable economic growth. This is very simple. As soon as the new power gets bogged down, it immediately directs all forces to block creative destruction. The meritocratic principle of management is always violated by class divisions.

Because violence is woven into the fabric of human relationships, it is not even visible to the participants. When you enter your room you do not notice things there, they have already become your habit, not a separate part of yourself.

So violence, as the multitude of modes of human existence, is completely invisible to those whose hearts are obsessed with them. This gives stability to primitive groups.If two Russians get on an uninhabited island, first of all they will establish a hierarchy among themselves by means of abuse and abuse, which often turns into a fist fight.

And then everything else. Despite the stability of relations in primitive groups, there is still a mechanism for their transformation into egalitarian communities. Absolutely for an understandable reason, there are excess human states about which I wrote yesterday, they create fluctuations in the hierarchical system of relations.

She immediately rejects them, clever men always threaten the leader with their own thoughts, undermining his authority. The only true strategy for him is to expose them to persecution, humiliate and insult, removing the threat from his status position.

The smart guys are forced either to adapt to the hierarchical system, turn into gray cardinals at court, or create their own communities already on the principles of horizontal links. So in every society, where primitive groups dominate, marginalized egalitarian communities are formed in an inconceivable and contradictory manner.

Look at Ancient Greece. All around enemies. They just societies are made up of primitive groups. Even a part of the ancient Greek states could not build a civil society, get rid of hierarchical structures. But most of the ancient Greek cities were able and created the standard principles of inclusive institutions, their scientific base and showed the whole world that a more profitable strategy is the ability to negotiate with each other than to carry out insane violence.

As soon as egalitarian groups begin to dominate in the society, the power spreads over a multitude of institutions, so immediately a favorable climate for economic growth arises, the middle class is gaining strength.

It becomes a heavy anchor to prevent social cataclysms, blocks as the claims of the rich to invest money in political capital, eliminate inclusive institutions, concentrate power in the hands of not many, and establish despotism.

And stops the goal in her eternal aspirations to take everything away and share it among themselves. So there are two stable equilibria between the dominance of primitive and egalitarian groups.

Society is not a frozen substance, but an open non-equilibrium system that obeys the laws of dissipative systems. It is possible to conditionally divide the social life into economic and political, but this is a single and not separate process.

And only from this point of view it is possible to achieve an understanding of the metamorphoses to which social relations are susceptible. Suppose that our society passed the point of bifurcation A and dominated primitive groups.

There is no possibility for the smarties to raise their heads, and there are no clever men yet. Excessive human states begin to appear completely within the system. One rested in literature, the other - poetry, Michel Montaigne - in morality and so on. These are fluctuations, they do not make any weather in the general bacchanalia of violence.

But the quantum entanglement of human life, which I wrote about the last time, allows a person to be in different registers of life. Moreover, a person who is present in one space, then in another begins to choose for himself the meaning and basis of his existence. There is a collapse and an unpredictable individual choice.

You can go to the service of evil and violence, but you can give it up. And at some points a man breaks down and can not resist the system, and in others he becomes a man himself. After the moral choice is made and the recurrence in behavior and thinking has begun, an individual becomes that very fluctuation, just a small point, a bug that everyone strives to crush. But he has something that people do not have in primitive groups - moral principles.They create a unique basis of human life, a certain mass appears with gravitational waves.

And they begin to draw the wise men to each other. Elements of the system previously disconnected, in a chaotic state, begin to see each other and create local communities. The most important thing here is that the process is gaining strength and every strengthening of such a community allows to resist pressure and violence from the hierarchical system.

The collapse of the hierarchical system begins, many people begin to choose between two survival strategies. Perturbations in the system lead to the point of bifurcation B, society changes, new institutions, traditions and customs arise.

At this point the system can become complicated and dominate egalitarian groups, and may degenerate, primitive groups will start to dominate, and even worse - conflict ones. Also, extractive institutions can become more complex at breakpoints and inclusive institutions will appear, but society can also slip to super-extractive ones.

The choice of the system follows the human heads and everything depends on us. And at the point of bifurcation, one person's preferences, the girls in pink, may be enough.
