I think the system (although basic) is actually already here but at least in these early stages, it takes more people to support people looking to support. lots of supports in there but I think you get the idea. If we support those looking to build and grow the community who are in turn supporting others looking to do the same, the distribution actually spreads very fast.
But, many expect support without buying-in or supporting others which makes it like a broken social security system. The platform encourages (although not easy to do) engagement and in time, those that create a community spirit are also rewarded for their efforts in a number of ways. Too many people currently treat it as a financial system only which makes actions resemble those of the 'real world'.
Oh yes, engagement in community. I'd love to do more of that but often there is simply no time. Maybe it's just whining. Often when I wanted to try for example steemit chat, there was always some other tasks I had to do.
