I think it is good to remember that equity has several meanings, yet consistently it is being hijacked and used only by one.

I have equity in Steem for example, which means that the outcomes I get (in several ways) are not going to be the same as someone who does not have equity in Steem. The value of shares etc and all of those who are also staked will get a technical return identical to my own, however just like in life, there are more factors involved than financial and investments of time, approach, value added etc all play a part in building equity of investment.
Things can never be equal in result because the starting points are near infinitely different across every factor that matters.
Very true. The joys of a living language, I guess. Words are forever getting hijacked and the original meanings get lost in time. Words which were once harmless are now taboo or insult to someone.
