Please, wait for the sun

I love these times. I was with a client today and we were talking about how some people always have an excuse not to do something, always have a reason why they aren't acting yet. Conditions are never right, the weather is never perfect. Just a little less rain and a little more sun.

Give me the rain and let it rain long and hard.

 

In the class I was explaining why I like the communal bad times as it is in these times that most people freeze up and find shelter to wait for clearer skies but, I am willing to keep walking my path.

The path is much slower going as it is slipperier and muddier than normal but, with a little care and some will, it is possible to inch a long it a few steps at a time. Sure, compared to the distance travelled when the sun shines, it isn't nearly as far and th reward is much lower for the effort but, progress is made.

Let it fall a little more

 

The longer it rains and the majority wait, I can keep trudging along, splashing my way through the puddles and step after step I move toward where I want to be. It is tiring no doubt but, it also supports skill, attitude and character development and when the sun finally does break through the clouds and the conditions improve, I can move with much more speed.

Some think that the rest recharges them but for me it is not the case, it is the work in difficulty that gives the drive for when the weight gets lifted and as people are slowly getting back into the groove, I am already running as best I can. I have to do it this way to walk my trail as there is a long way to go and I am not very talented to move quickly even at the best of times.

There is gold along that road

 

For me, this isn't about making gains on those ahead although it might happen nor is it about leaving anyone behind although that does happen, it is about learning to adapt to the conditions available rather than putting life on hold to wait for the chance at better.

What I have found is along that road is a lot of opportunity and as lonely as it may sound, it is not. Along that road as the majority wait, the minority few are working and toiling, inching alongside and doing the best they can. There are a lot of great people and the friends I have made in the difficult times are the ones who I know will be there in the good also, they are the gold to be found.

Most will keep waiting and excusing themselves... we will be walking and talking.
