End of the weakened

in #philosophy7 years ago (edited)

We are quite an eclectic bunch at Steemit.

There are blockchain experts of course and cryptocurrency specialists, interested and wannabes. Plenty of political activists and all manner of artists from photographers and writers, to painters and carvers. There are sports and health nuts and cat lovers. There are plenty of rich and a lot more poor. People from wealthy countries and many from countries that have been torn apart in many different ways. There are business professionals, unemployed, tech experts, factory workers and teachers. Some want fortune, some want fame, some want connection.

There seems to be a common thread that runs through everyone I have encountered. All want change.

I am yet to meet one who is completely content with the situation of the walking world. Whether they are interested in personal freedom, political change or complete revolution, all are trying to get a foothold into a domain where they believe they have the best chance of achieving their goals. No one here has come to stay the same, they all want to improve their position.

This is a beautiful thing. Something that can create revolutions.

A revolution does not require violence. It does not require the burning down of all that currently stands. It can be a movement, an awakening, a shift in community consciousness that dismantles what is oppressive and rebuilds it into what is supportive.

It need not be a slow process either, it needs to be deliberate action based on a large number of people willing to unite and walk together. We can have that at Steemit. We can be so much more than any current social site hell bent on subduing us, conforming us and turning us into products for a few to manipulate and build massive profits upon.

We are each nodes in a decentralised enlightenment that can reform the world structures and redistribute resources to where they benefit us all. Where we can become a true source of personal freedom in expression in the real world also.

This sounds idealistic, I know.

This isn't something that will be done easily and it will take time to develop the groundwork, train the necessary skills, locate and bring in the right people, allocate resources and many, many other factors.

Not everyone wants it this way though. Some may want to build a digital world that leaves them in the power positions, the 1 percent. Some think to be there is to have made it, won at the game. They want to recreate a world that has already been proven failed. That is why they are here after all.

Each day when I write, I feel like I am playing a small part in the revolution. A piece in the jigsaw puzzle that will lead us to freedom or destruction at the hands of those that crave power.

A lot of what I write is about skill development, especially in skills that are being lost to competitive cognitive artefacts. As technology creeps into our domain to make our life easier, people seem to be under the illusion it is natural evolution, they never consider it is by design.

The less skills we have, the less autonomy, the more reliance on others, the less options, the more controlled, the less free. We become a flock of sheep under the watch of wolves.

Unskilled us only benefits one group. And they already have most of the market cornered.

Again, isn't this why we are here? To wrest our lives back?

At least for me, I will run a common thread through my work on Steemit. It will look to question the status quo of our current existence and will look to help people take control, take agency, develop the skills, attitude and even the humour to approach life fully, fulfil potential and be strong. Strong enough to claim their independence, strong enough to help others claim theirs.

There are many others here doing the same whether they realise it or not. Through their words, images and stories they are changing perspectives, building awareness, increasing the swell. I hope that this becomes more than a few, more than a trend. I hope this becomes a movement everyone will join and offer their skillset for the group and themselves.

Step by step, a bit at a time, We can empower the many and end the weakened.

Awesome post! I really enjoyed it! I upvoted and resteemed!

Thank you very much for your support @teamsteem It helps a lot. Keep up your own good work too. :)

Love this so much. "A revolution does not require violence". You are so very right! Communication, which I believe we are all contributing to, is the key. 😊

Communication is key yet I think the global skill average is falling.

Sadly, I agree! It's a shame too. :/

You post resonates dearly with me, and I believe it resonates with everyone here too.

You are absolutely correct to say that everyone on here wants change. Everyone on here feel that there is a better way, a more moral, correct way. Steemit and the Steem Blockchain have felt like a godsent to me.

I'm glad we're all in this together. And so lets help each other, let's support and guide each other, be nice to each other, point out the mistakes when there's any in each other amicably and offer suggestion to fix each other's mistakes.

With this approach I think we will go far. Thanks for taking the time to comment.

Powerful write-up. Remain blessed

Master Taraz,
A clear statement. I am in! But, please keep the photographs included within the revolution!

Great post! Thanks for sharing.
