Society is fast deteriorating in front of our very eyes. But this time again, let's focus on an alternative take here because the consensus is very misguiding.
The "Incels threat" is another consequence of the gender divide caused the clash between patriarchy and feminism, and detrimental to both genders men and women alike.
It is sad that these men (and many others) still fail to see what patriarchy has really done to them, for if they did they would call to overthrow of the gender divide.
In China where it is predicted that 20 million men will be single by 2020 (as a result of the 1 child policy), the latter must resort to buy themselves a (cheap) wife in neighboring countries - mainly Vietnam. In Cambodia the situation is even much worse as the poor class (with a wage as low as 2 dollars per day) sell their daughters to the rich, and which later are resold to pimps and often must endure being gang raped by single men who cannot afford getting married and blame the porn industry. In every part of the world we find this very deepening divide between genders however.
Although it is a fact that the patriarchal society has given the upper hand to the masculine gender for about millennia, the gift was poisonous since the premise itself is an utter fallacy. As much as feminism because the latter is a counter reaction to that very fallacy.
Two fallacies opposing one another are setting themselves up for a bitter ending, but that was planned that way. So we are not going to go anywhere if sustaining such train of thoughts, but walking in circles while condoning more violence from both sides of the fence. Not to mention that men bowing to feminism have increasingly cognitive issues.
As much as it is also clear today that the onslaught on Nature is an direct attack on the feminine principle made possible by our monetary system prompting more "limbic brain patterns" such as competition and domination (by a few) that most have seen as a "necessary evil" since the dawn of time.
The "limbic system" is very ego(phoria) oriented and constantly tries to satiate its need for direct satisfaction. In short we are our own nemesis. Malevolent wetiko prays that way. (scroll down the page for our blog about wetiko)
Thinking that some having more power have the right to rule society has more to do with a low self-esteem and lack of self-love. We all can see where the consent to that state of affairs led us. . .
A complete society breakdown is underway!
The entire world (every culture) has to begin looking at its own civilization as completely irrelevant, and the only action that will allow some serious damage control is to quit fueling any these trends built upon erroneous perceptions and consensuses - while bracing for impact - but the sooner the better.
We have to embrace what is coming as unavoidable Rites of Passage toward universal peace and enlightenment!
Involuntary Celibates are an ‘emerging domestic terrorism threat’: Texas warns of an ‘Incel Rebellion’ (JAN 2020)
Misogynistic men who identify as part of the “Involuntary Celibate” movement are domestic terrorism threats, according to a new report.
The Texas Department of Public Safety included the warning in their 2020, “Texas Domestic Terrorism Threat Assessment” (PDF).
“Although not a new movement, Involuntary Celibates (Incels) are an emerging domestic terrorism threat as current adherents demonstrate marked acts or threats of violence in furtherance of their social grievance,” the report noted. “Once viewed as a criminal threat by many law enforcement authorities, Incels are now seen as a growing domestic terrorism concern due to the ideological nature of recent Incel attacks internationally, nationwide, and in Texas.”
“The violence demonstrated by Incels in the past decade, coupled with extremely violent online rhetoric, suggests this particular threat could soon match, or potentially eclipse, the level of lethalness demonstrated by other domestic terrorism types,” the report warned.

I normally agree with much of what you talk of. However, I believe the opposite is the case when you attribute what is going on with males as "what has patriarchy" done for them. Patriarchy is under siege, and most younger men have been deprived of strong male role models through the assault on fathers, male teachers, etc. the message of man up while women are to be esteemed for whatever choice they make (even destructive ones) is reaping what you see today.
Men are tired of being held accountable for everything, and those men unfortunate enough to find themselves incel due to their looks, or more likely the fact they were never shown how to be a man and thus be attractive to females are asking themselves why they should play this illusion of equality. If you ever want an eye opener, go to Reddit and read subs like:
Where are all the good men (my favorite red pill sub). It is comprised of men who have been burned (some many times) by the matriarchy backed by the courts and law.
Mgtow. An interesting sub that has a mix of those above to the incels you mention here. I have wondered since I discovered their sub years ago what percentage of them (incels) were raised by a single mother who forced/chased the father away. Grew up hearing continuously how women were always right and men were toxic, etc.
All in all, I suspect the real threat to society will not be the subset of incels, but the men who can and do opting out because the juice isn't worth the squeeze. Human beings need human doers the same as the general needs his infantry. Each day the infantry is deserting in higher numbers.
Will be curious to see at what point enough men back away leaving the players and their harems to figure out how to pay for all the children they keep making. I know many like myself are tired of paying for them.

But in my view such an upbringing is the result of patriarchy
Maybe our definition of patriarchy is different ?
I regard men and women as two complementary forces which cannot compete -- and feminism has too done serious damage to relationships and which is why there are so many single mothers - feminism forbids women to be nurturing toward their mate and encourages to only take from them and move to the next if it does not work
I feel however that we need to get rid of the labels to rebalance relationships
