Waking Them Up

How do you reach people with your knowledge? The people in your life, have you caused them to be aware of our enslavement? I’ve struggled with this, the loneliness and desperation of feeling invisible for the social-crime of being awake. I don’t think I’m alone in this feeling.

I would like to share my new method.

If one is interested in spreading truth, one is interested in spreading love.

It is not possible to wake someone, he must wake himself.

The seed you must plant is small. When it is conversationally natural for you to do so, you can state in an unaffected manner, “I do not believe in the concept of government.”

From this statement the listener may choose to ask you some questions. You can answer them honestly, but do so passively, as if he were asking you about your weekend. Maintain the dignity of your answers, offer them in a tone that honors their inherent matter-of-factness. Do not force the conversation into unnaturally extended duration, do not get agitated or excited. Let it be what it needs to be, move on, and leave the burden of follow-up with your listener.

What you said doesn’t matter because you have the truth on your side. Truth applies to all things. Your friend or family member will come upon the evidence on his own time, by means of his own perceptiveness. This doesn’t require faith. He will find the evidence of his slavery because it envelopes him every day.

One day he will see something in a different light. Perhaps he will pass a patrolman ticketing someone on the highway and a question will present itself: “What if the police are not here to protect us, but only to intimidate us and to steal our money on behalf of the state?” This is where the nature of your delivery of your message to him becomes critical. He will either think, “I need to talk to X about this!”, or he will think, “That is the kind of question that X would ask me. I’ve seen how frustrated X is, I’ve seen how he has alienated his family and friends. He constantly wants to argue and push this agenda on me.”

Do you see how we have been going about this in a counter-productive way?

Your role in his enlightenment is simply to be the person that he is excited to approach with his new-found perspective. In his moment of inquisitiveness, he will remember you. He will easily recall how empowered you are by your knowledge and he will be naturally drawn to you. You will be his lighthouse.

Does this method ring true for you? You can stop pressuring yourself, stop freaking out about how fucked we are. Your knowledge should empower you, you should be experiencing great success in your personal endeavors, and there is no shame in exploiting the new opportunities that you have created for yourself. Enjoy yourself and love the people around you.
