Tamang pagkakakilanlan sa mga lokal na negosyo, daan sa pagasenso! [Giving local Filipino businesses their own identity and branding, marketing their way to success!]

As a graphic designer, one of my most challenging work is to create a good brand identity for my clients. Looking for ways for their customers to instill excitement whenever they see the ads for that business. I believe that good marketing and branding is a huge factor to consider when opening up a succesful business. It is your identity, its one of those factors that drive people to try your establishment.

Today, I am sharing 3 tips you need in building a brand identity. But first, it should be clear that everyone has their own preferences when it comes to things like these. Thus, my first tip...

1.) Match your identity to your environment!
An identity must match its environment, is it going to be used for a local business? A huge organization? Is it going to be very professional? Or is it going to be fun? These are some of the things we need to consider. Anyway, as we are only focusing on the local side of things, lets not complicate stuffs and just focus around it... Marketing for local businesses here in the Philippines tend to be on the brighter side, it is usually fun themed, colorful and with visual representations of what they offer.
For example, here is a local business here in our town that mainly sells frappes and shakes...

2.) Play on words!
Whether its the name or tagline, its better if people can easily remember you.

Bentelog = BENTE + siLOG, which means "tig-bebenteng silog" or in english, "a 20 peso egg and rice meal". Here we can see how the owners played with words for their business name, combining 2 of the most important thing that they offer.

3.) Add lots of photos of your services!
Best way of marketing your own business is to let people see what kind of products and services you are offering! If its a food business, add lots of tasty food photos their cravings.

Bilang isang grapikong tagadisenyo, isa sa pinakamalaking hamon sa akin ay ang paglikha ng tamang pagkakakilanlan para sa mga negosyo ng aking mga kliyente. Paghahanap ng mga pamamaraan para matrigger ang pagkamusisa nila at subukan ang serbisyo o produkto ng isang negosyo. Naniniwala ako na ang tamang pagkakakilanlan at pamimili ay isang malaking kadahilanan ng pagasenso ng isang negosyo.

Bilang isang tulong sa mga nagbabalak ng negosyo, eto ang tatlong importanteng tips para sa matagumpay na pagkakakilanlan ng iyong negosyo.

Una... makibagay sa iyong kapaligiran.
Kelangan ay naaayon ang pangalan o tema ng ating negosyo sa ating kapaligiran. Ito ba ay malaki o maliit? Anong klaseng serbisyo ba o produkto ang iniaalok mo? Dahil Pilipinas ang ating pinaguusapan, at lokal na negosyo ang ating focus, eto lang ang masasabi ko, ang mga Pinoy jejemon! Hahahaha, joke lang! :p Kadalasan ang tema ng disenyo dito sa Pilipinas ay hango sa makukulay at masasayang tema, itulad ng pagkahilig natin sa mga fiesta. Gusto natin laging makulay at kadalasan may litrato o logo ng ating produkto. Isang halimbawa, nagbebenta sila ng mga inumin na nakakapukaw ng init, kaya may logo ng shake sa logo nila.

Pangalawa... Paglalaro sa pangalan ng negosyo
Mas madali nga naman tandaan kung kakaiba at nakakatuwa ang pangalan, may humor ganern. Ayan, tyak gets nyo agad kung anong klaseng negosyo yan :p hahahaha

Pangatlo... Maglagay ng madaming piktyur!
Kahit hindi mo luto yung mga pagkain dun sa menu, basta mukhang masarap at matatakam sila! Hahahaha, biro lang ulit. Wag ganun, dapat "what they see is what they get", di na babalik yan pagdi sila masiyahan sa serbisyo mo. Magpaskil tayo ng mga litrato ng mga satisfied nating customers. (y)
