The Fruitage of the Spirit (Part 1)- Love, Joy, Peace, and Patience

This world is obviously in disorder. From wars, to internal conflicts, economic recession, and a lot more problems that humankind is facing. Yes, this isn't the perfect world.

I have faith in God. And no matter people will agree or not, I am keeping up my faith. What I am discussing this time is the fruitage of spirit mentioned in the Bible at Galatians 5:22, 23. I completely agree in these two verses. Whether you are in faith or not, these 9 attributes mentioned in those verses are great qualities people should have.

In this first chapter, I am discussing about the first four ones: LOVE, JOY, PEACE, and PATIENCE

First one is LOVE

Do you think this is what's lacking in this world today? Well, I can say there are lots of LOVE in this world. It can be in a positive way or the negative one.

Love comes in different facets. There can be the love of God, that is when you have faith in Him. Another one is the love on you parents, your brothers, and sisters- something very important to have a healthy family life. Love between a couple- the most common love people thinks what love is. Though, love covers a broad meaning.

There comes love for money and power, something many politicians, oligarchs, and people in high position of the society are into.

Yes, love is abundant. But there is lacking of love as well. That causes disorders and conflicts in this world. Have you ever listened to the song from hip-hop group Black Eyed Peas' "Where is the Love?" released almost one and a half decade ago? Here's that video below:

Check the lyrics, and see if what's mentioned in that song is true or not. Well, that song has been released many years ago, yet has relevance at the current time and events happening in this world. Comparing the world's current events, nothing has changed, it even got worst.

Do you think LOVE is lacking in this world? For me, it's yes. Yes, there is an abundance of love, but lack of love is also causing these adversities and atrocities.

It's up to us whenever we show love. If we show love to others, it will surely makes us feel better. That BETTER can not amount to anything. And talking about love, here is The Beatles' iconic song "All We Need is Love".:-)

Even the world's biggest band knows love is what we need. Isn't it inspiring that we show love to other people?

Love, love, love... may we all find and experience love for ourselves. :)

Joy

As we look at the world events, it is sometimes depressing. But shall we dwell on the sadness these atrocities are causing us? Still, there are reasons that we should be joyful about.

If we look and observe the good things happening in our life, is it a reason for us to be joyful? Of course it is!

Unfortunately, there are things happening in our lives that's robbing our joy out. Death of a loved one, economic downturn, problems, anxieties, etc. These events can possibly take those smiles away out of our faces. Though, some circumstances when we put smile on our faces to conceal the pain. Still, we are generally speaking about any situation that robs joy from us.

Mental and emotional illnesses can also steal the joy from us. Whether it is anxiety disorder, depression, etc. There is a time for healing. We all deserve to heal and be finally experience real happiness.

We all want to be happy. We all want to be joyful. The attribute of joy is contagious. Our smiles can be contagious. If we are happy and we manifest in our faces and actions, we are spreading joy, and it brings smiles to other people witnessing your joy.

If we have joy, we can jump freely as seen in the picture. We all want to try that. Joy can move us to do joyful action. We can achieve joy if we want to apply "joy" in ourselves.

May joy be with us, and we all find real joy. :)

Peace

Amidst all the conflicts in this world, aside from love, peace is a quality that people involved is lacking. From time to time, we get involved in fights, but it we have this attribute, conflicts won't be prolonged.

This world has been into wars for centuries. Imagine the loss of lives because of wars. The last century actually recorded the highest number of casualties from wars. At the moment, there are different wars happening in the world. Even in our country, there are wars. Word war is also common in social media itself. People has been divided due to wars, as well as the conflicting perceptions of people. Thus, peace can seem unlikely. However, peace is very much likely if we apply this attribute to ourselves. We are not perfect though, from time to time, we tend to lose our temperament. Some any be stern or feisty. But if we have peace in ourselves, we can feel peace both in our mind and heart.

Peace can be disrupted inside the family. There can be internal conflicts because a member loses respect to the other causing pain to another member. Taking sides can often causes division. Exchanges of tirades can possibly happen. In fact, even in showbusiness, there are families which its members are lambasting each other, exposing their family conflicts. It can be understood that there are pains that are hard to mend, emotional wounds that takes long duration to heal. But consider other members of the family as well. Eventually, those heartbreaks will eventually heal.

I am sure everyone wants to have peace!

PATIENCE

Patience- a word that some people lacks. I think of all of us may lose it if people crosses the line on how they are treating us. Admittedly, I do sometimes lose my patience in some instances. That's part of ourselves when getting hurt. There are situations that requires patience.

You might be stuck in a lot of problems, that might be something that's hard to bear. Sadly, some people resort to decisions that would lead to tragic consequences, i.e., ending their life. It's not that they are lacking patience, and I won't judge such people, but lacking patience with action can sometimes lead us to wrong decisions.

Other people are whiny. Yes, we have the tendency to be whiny and complain about everything, admit it or not. If we have the right to complain about bad services that we customers deserve, of course it is our due right to complain. However, if you look at social media posts, there are people who complains nonsensically. Complaining about studying in school? Wow! There are a lot there who doesn't have the capacity to attend the school would want to take your place and appreciate the education they can acquire. Aside from that, there are complains which displays lacks of patience that can be seen in social media.

Take this as an example. You are diagnosed with an illness. But you have to undergo a month or two of medications and therapy to get cured. It is not easy to take such treatments but it will eventually heal you, what are you going to do? You will bear those difficulties to eventually feel better. Thus, it requires patience.

We also find it hard to deal with difficult people. But we can display patience. We all doesn't want to run out of patience, right? We can do it. if we want to.

If we look at the picture with those stones, do you think it is easy to create such by putting stones above every stones and achieve a beautiful view of it? Surely not! Putting every stones above each other is not an easy task. It requires patience. But if you finished it, we can have the sense of accomplishment as it gives a perfect view, and can take a good capture of photos out of it. The same goes for ourselves, if we will apply ourselves with patience, the results are worth it.

May we all show patience amidst all the hardships we are facing, and bear good fruits out of it. :)

It is not easy, but you can bear fruits

These first four qualities, may not be easy to apply, but it will surely gives benefits both for our external and internal beings. Yes, it is difficult. But if we open ourselves to accept these attributes and apply them, you will surely bear good fruits from it.
