Yellow Iris Half Cooked

These photographs of yellow irises were taken at the RHS Garden Rosemoor last week.

The one above is a macro shot and shows the flower ready to fully unfurl.

The one below is a fully opened bloom with all petals showing.

I like the macro for the detail and the whole flower for the light and shade contrast.

So, in this case, I neither prefer one nor the other but like them both equally for different characteristics! 😁
