A great, fearless and visionary leadership of AJ&K and a man of highest principles.
Member of Legislative Assembly, Son of the founder President of AJK and President of JKPP.
A strong voice for Secular Jammu and Kashmir as well as real Democracy, Rule of Law and Independence of Judiciary in AJ&K.
He twice resigned from his membership of the Assembly on his principled stance.
In 2009, he resigned from Assembly with the following note on his resignation letter:
“I have voted in favor of the no-trust motion, but the new set-up has come into being with the help of those who describe Kashmiri militants as terrorists and say that India was never a threat to Pakistan. The new set-up has made a greater compromise on the Kashmir issue than the one that has been sent packing and I announce my resignation from the assembly”.
