To nudge your viewpoint on waitressing in a positive direction financially;
My wife, a waitress back in the day, always looked for jobs in the high dollar steak houses and typically, easily earned $200-$400 during one nights' shift.
She would go the extra mile to serve and connect with each table of customers. Those same people when they returned, would request her for service and kick down hard with large tips.
