How to Create Text File using Perl Language?

When it comes to creating the file, perl has pretty simple approach for the file creation. Like you have to open the file to create it or the read it. So you get the idea of how to pretty much use the open keyword to make use of for creating and the writing to the file.

So here's the example on the creating text file option.

 open my $fh, '>', 'output.txt';

Here you can see that output.txt is opened at the time of the creation of the file. So here you can either write it or if there is some content then there is definitely going to be an option for writing to it. So this is pretty much simple example for the file creation in perl.

You can check the installation of the perl by typing the following code if you are on unix or linux, in case of windows you have to check the path if perl bin folder is added there.

Perl code requires you to have the code stored in the .perl file extension file. This way when you run the perl code say it's in the file named helloworld . pl

You can run the perl file on command prompt like this.

perl helloworld . pl

That's it. You can now execute the perl code on your computer.
