RE: [ENGLISH/SPANISH] Well..., This Is Me! (Part 3) / Bien..., Éste Soy Yo! (Parte 3)

Hi @dresden
That must have been a long 6 months away from home, but I suppose it was worth it for the positive change you helped bring about in the Afghan people's lives, and when you got home you could appreciate the things we all take for granted like running water etc.

Sort:

You've thought about it exactly as happened.
6 months there is an eternity, with not much to do exccept looking the beautiful stars in the night of the desert.
You cling to small things, as some friend's comment giving support, some phone call you can do sometimes to your family, etc...
And when you just arrive here and you begin to see civilization, buildings, electricity..., you need a time to recover and assume it again.
Remember my first day in my parent's house, I came out on the morning and couldn't believe I wasn't able to see beyond 100 meters on the horizon, by the accumulation of buildings.
There in Afghanistan you could see miles and miles away beyond the desert horizon, and that was a thing that still remains in my mind.
