In response to this I recommend exploring the work of Eckhart Tolle. His teachings show us how to live in the moment through cultivation of inner peace. He explains this phenomenon of "defending a fictional identity," and how we identify with the story of our lives which we allow to define us. A story that is taught to us by our parents, institutions, and societal norms.

This story blinds us and causes deep conflicts between our mind and spirit. It causes what Tolle refers to as "the human condition," a state of insanity which has resulted in emotional imbalances, stress, and disease. He points out that only the present moment ever truly exists, the past and the future are constructs of the mind. Without realizing this we completely identify with our story and this holds us back from manifesting our purest potential for getting the most out of life.

Tolle goes into great detail in his most popular books "A New Earth" and "The Power of Now." The Power of Now is available for free on YouTube as an Audio Book and I highly recommend that you go the extra mile and read A New Earth, it was the first one that I read and it really resonated with me.

If we choose to live among this insanity we must acknowledge the truth and live proactively. Activities such as yoga, meditation, dance, exercise, and all creative activities, allow us to be in the moment and forget about our story. It is like a workout for your mind and strengthening it allows us to be more in alignment with our natural state of being and thrive in an insane world.

I hope this was a good read!
Much love xo
