SEC S20W4//Transformation of ladies pattern of blouse
I am explaining here a step-by-step transformation applying to a pattern by the use of "Dart and Slash" cutting model.
• First of all I identified waistline, shoulder slope, and armhole for making a pattern.
• After that I have created a dart by folding and pinning excess fabric at waist level.
• After that I slashed a dart by cutting along fold which creates a seamless joint.
• Make smooth and aligned edges and cut the pattern parts according for verification of pattern.
• This is final look I have made by cutting this pattern and by making adjustments according to requirement.
Now I am making a pattern of Raglan sleeve.
• First of all draft armhole will be needed by drawing curved line from shoulder towards underarms.
• Then for creation of sleeve cap you need to draw an arc from armhole towards neckline.
• Next step is merging of sleeve and body by extending sleeve cap to body for elimination of seam.
• At last you need verification of grain lines and seam alignment. After that I finalize my pattern by making a drawing by making different adjustments.
For making patten of sleeve these pieces are majorly required!
- Front piece.
- Back piece.
- Sleeve piece which is integrated with body.
I have used following body measurements!
- Bust circumference which is 38 inches and it's 96.5 in cm.
- Waist with 30 inches which is around 76.2 in cm.
- Hip with 40 inches which is 101.6 in cm.
- Shoulder slope made with around 2.5 inches which is 6.4 in cm.
- Armhole depth is with 8 inches which is almost 20.3 in cm.
- Sleeve length is with 24 inches which is 61 in cm.
Now if I talk about overall pattern measurements then I take all these measurements
• Front length of around 26 inches which are 66 cm.
• Back length of around 28 inches which are 71.1 cm.
• Shoulder width of around 14 inches which are 35.6 cm.
• Armhole curve of around 10 inches which are 25.4 cm.
• Sleeve cap height of around 6 inches which are 15.2 cm.
• Sleeve width of almost 12 inches which are 30.5 cm.
Raglan sleeve measurements
• Raglan angle of almost around 30 degrees
• Sleeve cap arc of almost 12 inches and 30.5 cm.
• Armhole curve radius of around 4 inches and 10.2 cm.
