Today's Crazy Shopping Trip Ride

Hello dear Steemians! I just want to share the crazy ride of today's shopping trip I had with my family. By the way, that is my dad and I in the picture above.

As usual, we left to a hypermarket called Aeon Big (formerly known as Carrefour) in Wangsa Maju, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to do our monthly grocery shopping. We parked our car. Then, we took the elevator and got a trolley to began picking things that we need for home for the month.

Not long after, came the unexpected part of the trip. Unlike usual, we all took our hands off the trolley which was loaded with a few items while we were looking at a new shower gel variant which was nearby. After checking a few flavours, we picked one and went ahead to put it inside our trolley. That is when we realized that it was missing!

We could just get another trolley and pick the few items we have chosen earlier. Unfortunately, the grocery items were not the only things we kept in it because we also kept multiple cloth bags to carry our goods out during our exit so that we can reduce plastic waste. We split up and went around looking for it for a good 10 minutes but none of us could find it.

However, I realized that there was one particular trolley left abandoned. There were things in it including some paid items in a separate plastic bag from a different shopping outlet. So I figured that someone must have mistakenly taken our trolley instead of theirs and left. I told my family and we spent another 10 to 15 minutes waiting for the owner to come especially because he/she left some paid items behind.

The owner did not show up and we decided to take the trolley with us in case we come across the person. We also got a new trolley as well as the items we picked up early on for the second time. Since it is our monthly shopping, we picked many things up and filled them in both trolleys.

When we were almost done shopping, my mother noticed our cloth bags in one of the trolleys nearby. When she spoke to the woman holding it and mentioned our bags, the woman noticed that she has been pushing the wrong trolley all the while! She was worried about losing her paid items and we assured her that they were safe with her and handed them to her while she handed our cloth bags back to us.

This has never happened before and we ended up wasting a lot of time trying to figure things out. Due to using two trolleys, we did exceed our budget but the extra items were food so it is alright. Although it is weekend where we don't have to work, we had to be done on time because we had other plans for the day. Anyway, we have learned our lesson not to leave our trolley alone and to keep an eye on it whenever we are checking things out. Thank you for reading my post and have a great day ❤
