A mental storm is that state in which many negativeideas arise at the same time. Its strength is such thatit blocks us. It'S as if the course to follow suddenlydisappears. We feel completely surrounded bypessimistic, discouraging, irritating and depressivethoughts at the same time.
The mental storm sometimes takes place after avery strong experience. A dismissal, a love break, ora disappointment, for example. At other times, itoccurs after a long season in which we have been"enduring" adverse situations. We Do Not feelcomfortable with the life we carry and there comesa time when a click is produced that unleasheseverything.

It is a state in which pessimism seizes us and we justfeel like not advancing. Of denying everything andstaying there, no more. It Is Normal that at somepoint in our life collapsing to a mental storm. If Thisarrives, there are three steps that can help us getout of there. Deepen.
- Watch the mental storm and calm down
Think of a big weather storm. When It is presented,what we do is to find a refuge, because it is aphenomenon impossible to face in another way.Once we found a safe place, we often contemplateit. We'Re under the storm, but it's like We saw itfrom the outside.
The same thing has to be done with a mental storm.The first Thing is to find that safe place in ourselves,as a state of serenity. To achieve this, it is necessaryto breathe deeply for about 15 minutes. If possible,take a little walk, taking care to breathe slowly.
The next step is to take note of everything that isgoing on. What are those ideas that come into yourmind during the mental storm? Anótalas. Make alist, but don't think about it. Just aim, like one whotakes dictation. For now, there's nothing else to do.
- Examine The options you have
Once you have calmed down and have a list in frontof you that contains all the panorama you arelooking at, the following is to start looking for thelight that is in the clouds. Don't even think aboutgetting out of the mental storm. Just See if there areany roads, some way, to get out of that state.
In other words, it is advisable to think if you have analternative to be better. The question you need toask yourself is: What can I do to make this momentbetter? Focus only on that: at the present time, hereand now. Do Not Tackle medium-and long-termsolutions.
What you need is not to solve all your problems, butto find a way out of that mental storm. What do youneed and want? A hug? Listen to a song thatmotivates you? Do a little exercise? Eat somethingyou love? Whatever you gratified, it's valid.
- Get to work
When you have detected what can comfort you atthat precise moment, do not wait. Go after it. Dowhat you have to do and do it soon. If you don't stopa mental storm in time, you'll feel worse and better.Besides, if you let a lot of time go by, it'll be harderfor you to get out. That's Why you just have To act.
What happens during a mental storm is that a smallcollapse occurs in our thoughts and emotions. WeStop seeing reality as it is and distort the picture.Everything looks much more serious and difficultunder that state. It is Not true that the world is so.We perceive It that way because we are undercircumstances that have deprived us of impartiality,inundated with fears and expectations.
That's Why it's important to get out as soon aspossible from the mental storm. We Have to restoreserenity and take control again. At times like this,don't think about anything else, just going back toyour center. Put the rest aside. Your mind and heartare telling you to make a stop to recompose whathappens. Listen to that voice that suggests it. AfterThe storm comes the calm and you can seeeverything differently.
