Hlw friends.Today I am here to tell you about my visit of পাহাড়পুর বৌদ্ধ বিহার(Paharpur Buddhist Vihara) Or সোমপুর বিহার. Which is situted in Bangladesh.

  You all guyes know that I love traveling,And  Last month I went to visit the Paharpur Buddhist Vihara. It's really a very famous tourist spot in Bangladesh. Every month lots of tourist  come here in order to visit this spot.

An ancient Buddhist monastery is now destroyed in Sompur Bihar or somapur Mahavihara.
Sri "Durmapal", the second king of the Palais, had made this monastery in the late 8th century.In 1879 Sir "Cunningham" had invented this great Vihara.Pahar pur Vihara is called as the largest Bihar in the world. In 1985 UNESCO gave it the status of the World Heritage Site.

It was the Buddhist's most famous religious practice center for 300 years.
Buddhists of Tibet, Malaysia, China, India, Myanmar, Indonesia etc. used to come here to pursue religion and prayers.
The area of ​​Paharpur Buddhist monastery is 922 feet north-south and 919 feet east-west.There are 177 houses in Bihar. Buddhist monks lived in the houses. A temple in the middle of Bihar is in the middle.In the evolution of time, the upper part of the temple collapsed.
On the outer wall there are Buddha statues, Hindu statues of Hindus and lots of burnt soil plaques.

To reach Naogaon town from any corner of the country, you can go straight to the historic Paharpur bus from Naogaon Baludanga Bus Terminal. It's about 32-35 KM.

That is amazing. I love ancient architecture. To see buildings that are 1000 or so years old and still standing is amazing. To hear the history of the place. Seems like it should be a bucket list item.
