Will we be missed?

in #partiko7 years ago (edited)

This morning @laputis and I were trying to check @deemarshall's Artstorm contest theme for Saturday and noticed that there wasn't any annoucement made yet.

We we a little worried because @deemarshall has a habit of publishing contest announcement in the first half of the day. But then she finally posted the theme and we were relieved.

I even asked @deemarshall in the comment if she was OK to which she replied:

I am fine. Thank you for your concern. I led a children's cookery course and then went for a meal :) Time just disappeared.

It is nice to know she is OK, of course, and that her community can continue creating art for her contests.

So anyway, the fact the we were worried shows that we would miss @deemarshall and her work if she stopped posting on Steem.

Her daily contests have gathered a strong community around her. What would happen if such contests were no longer around? Perhaps somebody else would step in but the people who depend on her daily work would be deeply sad.

I'm not only talking about daily prizes in Steem that are so important to contest participants. I also refer to the fact of how important is to have daily themes to create a drawing upon.

@laputis and I can testify to this as well. Even though there are only 24 hours in the day and we sometimes don't make the time to submit our comics to the contest, nevertheless the fact that there is a daily contest theme eliminates most of excuses not to create.

This leads me to the idea which should be very important to every Steemian.

Will we be missed? Will our followers send us comments asking if we are OK, if we stopped posting? Or maybe no one will notice?

In the past I have submitted such comments to a few Steemians whose posts and comments I have missed. What about you?

It's easy to check this. If you're not sure, just stop posting for a day and see how your followers react.

Very dedicated with sheer perseverance 😊

Thank you so much for this post. I am very touched that I was missed.

I miss @marty-art, @magiccleatus and @lildebbiecakes, all of whom seem to have quit Steemit or taken a long break.

Part of the feeling of missing them comes from not knowing what happened to them. Did they fall sick? Did someone piss them off? Was their Steemit income too low to bother with? Or maybe they simply got bored with Steemit. Who knows?

This is a constant online problem. Not only are our online friends and contacts transient but we don't even know if they tell us the truth.

Recently my friend was stalked on fb. I showed her how to block this stalker then she told me that she was safe from him in rl as he lives in Miami and she lives in London. I replied that she couldn't believe anything he'd written on fb. He might really live in a London tower block for all she knew.

Anyway, thank you again to @laputis and @organduo for missing Artstorm :)

Hi dear @deemarshall, wow I feel so blessed that so many have missed me, and I’m so sorry I haven’t contacted you all, like I have done in the past when I’ve been away. I will tell you what has been happening with me. This is a reply that I wrote to @organduo today, I thought I’d copy it because it’s so long, you know how I am Ha Ha! Anyways here’s what I wrote back to @organduo after he expressed his concern, and said I was missed. Your a very thoughtful gentleman Vidas, and thank you for your kindness, concern, and thoughtfulness, and this post. You and @laputis have certainly touched our hearts many times here on Steemit , as well as you @deemarshall, and I would definitely miss you all and everyone else here if any of you left. Here’s what was said to Vidas - ( Hi dear friend, I know I’ve been away for a long time now, It’s so nice to know I’m loved❣️I’ll tell you why I’ve been away, a friend of ours became homeless and was living in his car with his dog for quite a long time. He was one of those old friends that you would see every now and again, if he happened to be in the area. One night we got a phone call from him saying that he had run out of gas in a little town about twenty five miles from us, and ask us to help him. That’s when we found out about his situation. He was driving a beat up tiny compact car filled to the brim with his belongings, and with a sweetheart of a dog named Lee Lou. He had lost his job, his apartment, and most all of his belongings. He had been doing odd jobs to stay alive whenever and wherever he could, he was severely depressed, no matter how he tried, he couldn’t get out of his slump. We have known this man since he was a child, he is thirty six now. Anyways to make a sad and long story short, we have been making a home for him here with us, and it’s going well. Rick and I have a split level home, and he has moved into the downstairs. We’re he has a full fenced in backyard where his dog can run freely, she is having a great time. The downstairs had grown to become our storage room, and where working on cleaning it out and having a large garage sale YEAH! So that’s what I’ve been up to, we have been devoting special time with him making sure he gets the mental and physical comfort he desperately needs. We have work to get done around here still, and so I’m not sure how much time I will be spending on Steemit until things are settled. Where having a great time with our old friend, and where all doing great, life is good, God is good!! Love you guys Deb❣️

Clearing out takes ages :) I am glad you are okay.

I’m doing great, thank you @deemarshall❣️

You are right about the dangers on the internet. Luckily we have this community where everyone feels welcomed (except maybe one or two people who like to use other people's work as their own, haha). I also miss @lildebbiecakes, @marty-art and @magiccleatus. Hope they are at least OK.

Every steemian should always work towards this question what of if I decide to leave steemit today, will my absent be felt and will my presence be missed

Yes and if we are always conscious of this, then the impact of our work will be far greater than we imagine.

I will definitely be bored. Thank God everything is fine and I look forward to the start of competitions. Every day

I'm glad she is continue to organize this community. Lot's of people depend on her.

Greetings, the truth that I miss @deemarshall because I had not published, I thought it will be sick and then went back to review and there is the publications again. Thanks God you are okay. My friend @lildebbiecakes is far from Steemit, the truth is that we do not know what she will have.

Ahhh so sweet, I’m still here❣️☺️

Steemit will no longer feel like the same if one or two members of this community will take a break or decide to leave the platform especially the Pinky and Spiky community 😋

The same goes for you too. If you decided to stop posting...
