My Possessiveness

This is a story I want to share to all of you. I will break this story down into 3 parts. Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3. I will break down each part and slowly connect them the way they are connected. This story is based on my personal experience.

I am a very possessive person, especially when it comes to my pets. As some of you may know from my mom @kadishakho, I have 4 pets; 1 cat, Tiger; 2 dogs, Bobi and Penda; 1 rabbit, Spotty.

So, a brief introduction about them, Tiger came to me 3 years ago when I found her under an aircon pipe, drenched in cold aircon water, barely alive and half blind. When I found her, I was taking an evening walk with my mom when I heard a faint meow. I went in search for the source of the meow when I first saw Tiger, a 3-coloured kitten with one eye totally shut by its eyes excrement. She was looking at me with her other eyes very weakly and when she saw me, she let out a faint meow and passed out. I took her in my arms and she smelled, she was covered in her own urine and feces but I carried her anyway. I brought her to my mom and ask if I can keep her and she said yes. I was not sure if Tiger could last the night because her breathing and heartbeat were very slow. I whispered into Tiger’s ear and told her to hang on and I will take care of her if she survived, she did and I named her Tige. So, fast forward to now, 3 years later, she is the princess of the house.

Bobi. Well, Bobi came to me 2 years ago after I lost my dad and we decided to move house. And since my brothers and I are working, we also decided to get a dog because my mom would be home alone with my little brother. So to get a dog was to give my mom a little protection. So, I started to ask around if anyone has a puppy that they want to give away. All hope seems dull when suddenly an aunty who sold vegetables to the coffee shop next door to the phone booth I worked at heard that I was looking for a puppy. She came to me and said that her female dog recently gave birth to 2 puppies but she only want to keep 1. She offered to let me choose which one I want. She sent me a picture of both the puppies and she will bring the one I choose to my workplace for me the next day. I took an instant liking to Bobi and I showed the picture to my and she too, took an instant liking towards Bobi. The next day when she sent the dog to me, I decided to name him. The names were, “Steven”, “Brian” and “Bobi”. Deep down, I wanted him to be called Bobi because I was a fan of a Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. There is character in the series name Bobbi Morse. I like that character. When I was saying the other 2 names to the dog, he does not have any respond until I said ‘Bobi’, then he let out small bark when jump around. I called him Bobi once again and he looked at me. So I named him Bobi.

Penda. Now, Penda’s story is a little different from Tiger’s and Bobi’s. Penda came to me through a girl that is staying in our house. Because one of my brothers moved out, there is an empty room in our house so we decided to rent out the room to help a little with our expenses. Now, I met this girl through her boyfriend. Her boyfriend is my colleague. Let’s call her, Ms. M. She is currently studying in a University near my house. That was the original idea why she was staying with us, because our house is nearer to her campus. She said that she likes dogs and if we would allow her, she wanted to bring one home. So since Bobi was all alone and still a 1 year old pup, we let her to bring one dog back so that Bobi would not be so lonely. She was really happy that we allow her to get a puppy. But things change the older Penda gets. She is seldom home, she does not care for him anymore, she neglected Penda with the excuse of studying and working. Even when she is home, she hides in her room. She does not contribution anything to Penda’s well-being. Maybe it is just for me but a dog knows if a person is being sincere towards them, they can sense it. So eventually Penda becomes closer and closer to me, I am the one feeding him, bathing him, play with him and also buying everything for him. He answers to me more than he answers to her now. He even ended up wanting to attack her sometimes.

Spotty. Now, Spotty is my only pet that does not come to me when he was still a baby. He was actually spotted by my brother when we reach home after work. But I could not catch him because I did not see him. It was until night time when Ms. M came back home that she saw him too. She wanted to just leave him outside with the risk of being bitten to death or eaten by stray dogs until I told her to hold on to it because she does not want to catch it. She said he was dirty. So I ran out in my pajamas to catch him and bring him in. Since then, he became part of the family. Thus, he is name is Spotty because everyone in our house spotted him.

So you see can see why I am very possessive towards these 4 pets of mine. They all hold a special place in my heart and I love them very much.
