#INTRODUCEYOURSELF….Coffee white, humour black

BLACKPAINT20...30, Female, INTJ Personality

OFFICIALLY A MUSEOLOGIST/#ART HISTORIAN/TOMB RAIDER (yes, really) who realized I am a dark tourist specialising in cemeteries, crypts, catacombs, charnel houses, funerary symbolism and burial grounds, a muse, une gamine, a dark scholar, a creature of darker nature wishing to engage on creative ventures with talented and interesting individuals who share my love for the decadent, the intellectual and the macabre. I am a tumblr émigrée and now I plan to make Partiko my own personal museum, a place where I share the art I have always been fascinated with. My main fascination is Eschatology and the visual culture of death and sepulchral culture; the figure of #Death throughout the centuries, (the triumph of death, the grateful dead, artistic anatomy prints) plague art, Danse Macabre, Vanitas, Death and the Maiden, cemeteries, memento mori objects, European cultural manifestation of deisidaimonia e.g. Phoenician apotropaic amulets, the decadent, the grotesque, demonology, symbolism, occult, esotericism, witchcraft, the weird and wonderful, jewellery (especially mourning jewellery) alchemy, curiosities, oddities, mythology, antiques, funerary art, architecture & symbolism, wonderful interiors of museums …and coffee.

MY BOOKSHELF HAS BOOKS ABOUT…History of art, art and artists, cemeteries and funerary art, Latin dictionaries, erotica, philosophy, teratology, occult, crime and serial killers.

WHY DID I BECOME AN ART HISTORIAN…I was too fascinated with Indiana Jones.

AND A MUSEOLOGIST?.…It was an occupational hazard.

AND A TOMB RAIDER?...I made my peace with the inevitability of death.

IF I WERE NOT IN THE WORLD OF MUSEUMS, I’D BE…a criminologist/psychologist.

SKIN OF CHOICE…too pale with winged eye liner so sharp you could stab a man and sacrifice him to Ashtart.

FAVOURITE STYLE OF ART…I love gritty details, shock, the macabre and anything dealing with mortality. I If I had to choose, one of my favourite art movements is the Decadent movement of the 19th century - my favourite century as well! The movement explored ideas which greatly interest me; madness, evil perversity, sacrilege and sin.

MY FAVOURITE THING ABOUT ART…that it can be so eloquent about the culture which produced it. It is fascinating that you feel a connection with an artwork of the past as if a hand has reached out to you across the ages.

SOME OF MY FAVOURITE ARTISTS… Hieronymus Bosch (and his followers, Jan Mandyn or Mandijn, Pieter Huys and Herri met de Bles), Early Netherlandish monsters/demons. The Flemish trio: Pieter Bruegel the Elder (The Triumph of Death masterpiece) his son Jan brueghel the Older and his son Jan Breughel the Yonger (hellscapes), David Ryckaert, Louis Breton, Jean Delville,Gustave Dore, Jacques Callot, Maximilian Pirner, Jacques de Gheyn, Albert Besnard, Hans Holbien, Jan Davidsz de Heem, Pieter Claesz, Jacob Isaacsz van Swanenburgh, Joseph Heintz the Younger, Jan Lyuken, Zbigniew M. Bielak, Caravaggio, Antoine Wiertz,Franz Stuck, Gustav-Adolf Mossa, Michelangelo, Bernini, Rudolf and Conrad Meyer (Danse Macabre) Salvator Rosa, Hieronymus Wierix, Leonard Bramer, Felicien Rops, Jacob Cats, Le Poitevin, Vasily Wilhelm Alexandrovich Kotarbinsky, Bartholomaus Bruyn (Barthel Bruyn the Elder), Frans Francken the Elder, Frans Francken the Younger, Christoph Jamnitzer, Günter Brus,Malcolm Liepke, Juan de Valdés Leal, Leonardo Bistolfi, Francisco de Goya, Goitia, Stefan Eggeler, Marcelo Bordese, José Segrelles, František Rint, Alessandro Magnasco, Jacopo Ligozzi, Kawanabe Kyōsai, Gerald Scarfe, and Martin Van Maele.

MY MOTTO…Carpe jugulum; “Seize the throat.” And Memento Mori of course.

MY BLOOD TYPE…#Coffee.

TOOLS OF THE TRADE…Black pen, archives, notepad, passport, ICOM card, wifi, mobile phone and word processor

FUN FACT… St. Anthony is my favourite saint because of him artists depicted many fantastic imagery of demons

NOT FOR…the faint of heart.

Welcome to the Steem blockchain where all refugees of internet censorship can find a home.
The art community here is thriving and some artists you may like to check out are @thermoplastic @alain-bellino @patschwork @gric.
The way things work here can be a bit confusing at first but you can always ask questions and get support on the Discord servers.
As you probably know there is no real censorship here but it may be a good idea to tag your posts with NSFW if it has adult content. It will still be visible to those who want to see it but can protect those with a weak disposition. Looking forward to seeing what you bring to the table

Welcome!

Refugees work fine here, because NO ONE cares who you've pissed off in the past.

Glad to have you.

Thanks :)

Thanks for your curious introduction! I have no doubt that with you Tumblr's loss will be Steem's gain. And your gain too...

There are all kinds of interesting people on Steem. And you will be one of them.

The beginning journey here could be a bit lonely so I recommend commenting as much as you can on the blogs that interest you to make connection.

Joining one or more communities on Discord and being active there is another tool many have found useful.

Here's to a great 2019 for you! Steem on!

Hi and welcome!

Love the intro post... and an excellent taste in centuries.

I guess it's no surprise... much less death denial back then as people were much closer to it, unlike now - you might even say the denial of death is something of a social norm.

Also, the beards were generally much better then, none of this hipster nonsense!

Steem's an odd place. Pay no attention to the large payouts - its mainly circle jerkers, early adopters, self-voters.and bid bot abusers.

Plenty of decent peops on here too though.
