It's so annoying sometimes. Why can't we just mourn the dead without people taking the opportunity to politicise everything. If the real problem is to be addressed it probably won't win any false sympathy or outrage.
One reason to never let a crisis go to waste is that they want to ensure that no one ever talks about the real problem, that is what they are paid to do.

Here is the problem, after every shooting they expect law abiding gun owners to accept some new meaningless restriction just to make them feel good. It's absurd, they cannot be given an inch.
...In fact, after each of these we need to go the other direction and repeal a gun restriction!

For sure! We need about 30 seats in the House and 15 Senators to get that done, unless Trump (who's been giving off extremely mixed signals since Parkland) does some EO.
I am vary wary of Trump on this because he has sent many mixed signals and if he actually supports a gun control proposal it will go through.

He's welcome to believe that, but in so doing he shows his true leftist/centrist portfolio to his base, and loses it entirely. The left will never embrace him. He is/was a "capitalist" (actually an oligarchical fascist--but the nuance would surely be lost on the new COMMUNIST left.)
