If you've ever played Firefall and are sad that it's gone, well you're in for a pleasant surprise! The team is back together and, while they can't bring back Firefall, they are working on a new game in the spirit of what Firefall was meant to be.
If you haven't played Firefall, well they're both (rather, were/will be) MMOFPS games with massive battles, flying on gliders and jetpacks, and terrifying aliens trying to devour you. The main goals are to gather resources through mining machines and defend your base(s). Their crafting system was great in Firefall (before it was broken, but that's a totally other story), and I'm hoping to see something similar in Em8er.
A few differences: while Firefall had more-or-less bionic suits of armor, Em8er will have more Mech-like battle suits that are about twice as tall. And while Firefall took place on an Earth nearly annihilated by an arc folding space jump gone terribly wrong, Em8er takes place on another planet where you are part of a crew who has successfully jumped to another planet (maybe we're talking parallel universe where the arc-fold experiment succeeded?)
