Maybe we need a different strategy...

"When you're thinking of the biggest dream of your life, use your whole inner strength, so that the dream itself have no other option but to come true..."

I saw it written on a wall as I was driving back from work a couple of hours ago and it kinda gave me the chills...It's so...poetic, yet it could also be so delusional...

I don't really know why but I associate little things from the real world with steem which is "another" world...

Could it be because of the fact that, if steem is destined to succeed it would definitely change my financial status once and for all?

Maybe because I see the value that can bring in real life?

Or because I am kinda heavily invested in steem -at least for my standards-? Yeah I wasn't patient enough and started buying from the 1.60$ mark all the way down to 23 cents. If I was patient I could have had 3x the stake I am holding now without spending a single more dollar, but you know how it goes...You never know where the real bottom is. At the time I thought it was 1.6 $ Then 1.2$ Then 80 cents...and so on...

No complaints though...I have a pretty decent average...

I don't really know the reasons why, but I do know one thing for sure. That I really enjoy spending some of my free time here...It is something I could do all day long to be honest with you all, but unfortunately my work schedule is way too overloaded to spend more than a couple of hours around here lately.

And while I am trying to catch up with all the latest developments, to read a few blogs that I really enjoy and such...I also have a look at the coinmarketcap.com page to see for myself if steem improved its overall ranking. And it hurts lately...like a lot...And while I know that it hurts I keep doing it.

Wtf is this? Some sort of schizo?

I was saying???

Oh, yeah, that 75th spot feels like a nail in the heart. By no means those developments are reflected to the current price. I mean really now? 35 cents? I am looking at some coins that are way above as on the ranking and they are laughable...yet we keep sliding...

And while many of us are trying to convince others to join the steem world by leveraging all the rest of the social media platforms for that shout out, yet we keep sliding...

Maybe we need a different strategy...

By making posts and talking about it, it's the same as talking to each other about things we already know...

I wonder what would it take if we were the ones that payed a few top notch sites to place an add regarding steem. Exactly the same way others pay Steemit.inc and place their adds here.

Wouldn't that be a good investment? Maybe the whole community could contribute to that if the bill goes out of control. I wouldn't mind contributing, and I am sure there are many more out there that want steem to thrive and would do anything in their power to help reach that goal. We could even pay with steem...

Are there already adds for steem out there that I am not aware of? And even if there are, a few more wouldn't be a bad idea...

All we need is to attract a few more thousands, now that the price is attractive and the rest will be history...like the domino effect...

Thoughts? Other propositions maybe?

Sort:

That is what I am referring too many times... we need a marketing plan, we have to increase the visibility... it is obvious we are hidden in the cryptomarket because the constant selling action of whales are bringing steem towards the bottom of the first 100 so If I were a new investor at the crypto space I would focus first on the first 50...not the 75th. So I fully support your proposal.

It's crucial not to drop below 100th spot...

Judging from myself, I don't even remember when was the last time I checked a coin that wasn't on the first page a.k.a top 100...and I assume the majority acts the same...

We just need to find the best possible way to promote steem

There are some serious positives that go with this @mindtrap. First the relatively cheap cost is coiling the spring back even harder so when there is a jump, which I am fairly certain there will be at some point, maybe even soon. Looking at the coinmarketcap rankings I see new coins, but a lot of the same ideas packaged in different wrapping with a gimmick here or a gimmick there. I am certainly not a steem maximalist but see there being amazing potential in steem especially since the release of the steem-engine alt chains of steemit that are consolidating communities, making our statuses more reflective of in a micro environment versus doing "the tethered swimming routine" as before. Second, steem is still and very likely will be the go to reserve currency for these new altchains, which are at a point places like facebook are trying to get to and we are already there and continually breaking ground on more. The bottom line is the value being added here on all that encompasses steem based networks that are growing by the day is light years more great in my opinion than there ever has been any kind of value added to this platform and steem itself. I would say keep your head up, the best kept secret that is comically undervalued should not stay that way much longer. Pump and dump schemes are passing steem at the moment, along many other projects that have far less staying power and are getting pumped to a degree purposely, only to fall sooner than later. This place is developing quickly into what the other social networks looking to tokenize their communities are hoping to do, so we truly are in bewildering position when you consider value being created here has never been more consequential and steem is record lows for its trading value to BTC. Something is going to give.
