Our new family member
Please welcome a new member of our family..
His name is Maxo, he is 6 months old and he is the cutest puppy in the world (I know that everyone says it about their dogs 😊)
My parents are divorced, and I grew up mainly with my mom. I left home when I was 18 (long long long time ago) and my mom stayed in my hometown with my siblings. Recently my brother and sister left home as well, and my mom was alone. My brother had an idea of getting a dog for her for some time and now it seemed to be the right moment to actually get one that will keep her company.
In June, it was the first time that I met him. He jumped all over me and we instantly became buddies. I spent a lot of time with him during our stay in Slovakia as my mom was working. We took him with us on all our day trips.
He has a very good character, lots of energy and he likes to play. He loves to run around like a maniac but he also enjoys cuddles. A lot of them.. And when he is not in the mood he simply turns around and leaves the room 😊
He loves treats and would never ever refuse a piece of watermelon. And carrot of course. He is crazy about carrots. He also likes to hide his treats for later. It happened that we found them before he remember that he hid them. Or maybe it wasn't the right time for them yet.
We didn't have pets before and I didn't know how it feels to have such a happy little fellow at home. Now I know, and I must admit that I fell in love with Maxo and I am very happy that he became a part of our family.

He likes to play on the grass - the longer the better...

My mom told me that he would not put his paws in a brook. Well, he did and if the water would be deeper, I'm sure he would dive right in. It was 36 degrees Celsius so who wouldn't like to take a dip?

What should you do after getting out of the brook? You should play with mud and get as dirty as possible! And of course, you have to take the biggest branch with you back home. Or at least you should try...

It's time to go home and take a shower. He doesn't like showering as he knows that he looks like a big rat when he's wet 😊

The first thing he did on our walk after his shower was rolling on the grass. There was some plant that stuck to his hair and he walked with those little green pieces for the rest of the day...

Apparently it made him very happy...

And this was the look that he gave me after I told him that he will have to take a shower again. I am sure that he understood me 😊

We had so much fun with him and I'm looking forward to seeing him again soon.
Thank you for reading!
Cheers,
Martina
Such an excellent little friend - He is a bit of a character I can tell.
..Sadly one of mine can't eat carrots (took me awhile to work out he has an allergy to them, which is apparently common with dogs).
He definitely is :) Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. I've read somewhere that many dogs have issues to digest carrot. BUT there are so many other delicious things for them ;)
Thank you for stopping by! :)
hahaha I love that last look... I don't know how they instinctively know how to make the cutest "please have pity on me" face, but dogs are really really good at it! I'm glad to see that you got your Mom this gift. I'm sure she will have lots of fun while also having someone to talk to :)
That one is priceless, lol. He knows exactly when he should make such face but sometimes it doesn't help. What needs to be done (such as shower) needs to be done :)
She treats him like her 4th child. He is spoilt rotten and enjoys it to the fullest :D
:) ... I would expect her dog to get the best treatment of all the siblings :P
Greetings dear @delishtreats,
Could one have a more cheerful, splendid post than this.....I think not. hehe
So darling! Maxo is quite a fitting name for him.....so full of sprigerinktum! .....sp?
Thank you for bringing him round. ^__^
Wishing you a lovely day!
Cheers!
Hello dear @bleujay,
I'm glad that you like it. When I feel a little blue, it's enough for me to think about him and I feel instantly better :)
First, I didn't like the name but when I got to know him I thought it was great for him.
Thank you for stopping by :)
Have a lovely day too!
Cheers!
Congratulations, I also have a dog in my home for the last 11 years and I can tell you that it's the best remedy for loneliness ever, your mother will be in good company and mood from now on :) he's adorable!

What's the name of your dog? And what kind of breed it is? You must have a great bond with him after so many years. I found it difficult to leave him at home after just two weeks that I spent with him :)
She loves him and spoils him rotten. And I'm glad that she doesn't feel lonely :)
Thank you for stopping by Dan!
She's named Lizuca, it's black with brown and is some interesting mix of bichon. When she was little she looked quite similar to Maxo. Now you'll have one more reason to return home more often.

Great fun @delishtreats. Love the look you captured when the poor little guy was told a shower was coming. He "worked" hard to get all of those wonderful smells and stains into his fur and "Mom" is going to make me wash it off?! Haha! 😉
Hahaha, you are so right! He did such a great job and now this :) But as he likes to sit on the couch and his most favorite place to sleep is my mom's bed he has to learn to do some compromises in his hygiene :D
haha! Howdy Martina! I love that guy! What a wondeful addition, he is impossibly cute. Just like Jack too in that he likes watermelon and loves carrots!
Good morning John! He is so adorable. I miss him more than my family, lol :D You should start posting some photos of Jack. I'm sure you have plenty of them :)
Howdy Martina! I believe that dogs are God's special gift to mankind. lol. I really do. I've posted quite a few photos of Jack so most people know who I'm talking about when I mention him. He's awesome too. lol.
I saw him too and of course I know who you are talking about but it would simply be nice to see him more often :)
Howdy today Martina! Yes I agree. How is the business development progressing? Are you getting ready to post about it?
Oh cowboy, there is nothing to post about as I'm waiting for another location. I don't want to post about what everything happened as it didn't lead to signing an agreement. So you have to be patient and enjoy my photos :)
Oh ok, well I'm sorry to hear that the location didn't work out. But I can handle enjoying your photos! lol.
No need to be sorry. It was a conscious business decision so it's all fine :)
The company of a pup is one of the greatest pleasures, IMHO. How cool you spent some time with this little fella.
That is so true and I'm glad that I finally understood it too :)
Hello, Martina! I agree that he is a cutest puppy 🐶🐕 because he is! 🤗❤
So is he going to stay with your mom or go with you?
And how was you Italian vacation?

So it's not only me who thinks that he is the cutest one :) Thank you!
No, no, he stayed back home. He was so sad when we were leaving. He knew that everyday we went somewhere by car with him and when we were loading our luggage into the trunk, he jumped in there and refused to get out of the car. I can't wait to see him again :)
It was amazing! I will definitely do some posts about it. Just don't know if I should finish my Slovakia series and then start with the Italy one.. have to think about it :)
Thank you for stopping by and have a lovely evening!
You won't believe it, but I read and see mostly the same situation that I had a few years ago. My husband's brother that live far from us and far from civilization (lol) lost his dog. It was shoot by accident.
As we were going to pay him a visit, he asked us to buy and bring him a dog, in fact, a puppy.
I love cats all my life, and since I remember myself I dreamed about having a kitten. And here we got a puppy for 2 days when we depart. My husband had dog before, long ago, but I had no idea what to do with a puppy. What does he eat, what care do it need. Besides, we both work a full day. But!
It was so amazingly unbelievably cute that ... I got connected to him for those 2 days, it was like a love from first sight. It was so smart and honest, and full of energy to play, that I was wondering how could I love cats before??
What can I say. I still remember how he ran to me in the morning of rirst day at his new home. A night before we should leave I didn't sleep, I cried as a fool, and my heart suffered when I thought that noone will love him here like me.
Now he is a big dog and noone dare to treat him wrong )) Sounds silly now, but I still miss it.
Thank you for reviving sweet memories! I hope Maxo will be okay and remember you when you come next time.
That is so sweet. Yeah, puppies have huge impact on us and we fall in love with them so quickly. I think it's in their innocent eyes. They just want to be loved and they give you all the joy of world. I think I wouldn't be able to work if I would have a puppy as I wouldn't have the heart to leave it alone all day, lol :D
Do you have a puppy now?
It's not going to take long before I go to Slovakia again so I hope too that he will still remember me and if not then I'll make him remember :)
I don't have any pets :( We both live in small apartments and work full time, it would be a suffer for a dog. And, after that, I don't want anyone except dog )))
So cute :) It is such a comfort to have a dog or any other pet ( I have a cat ) they are allways given us so much joy and great companiens. Have some fun with him. I sure there is a lot of energy in that little body :) have a great evening. Ulla
Hi Ulla, now I know your name :) I have never wanted to have a pet because I didn't think I could bear it when they die.. it might sound silly but this though made me very sad. Even now I can't think about it.. but I do understand now that those little creatures bring so much joy to your life that it's all worth it :)
Thank you for stopping by! Have a nice evening yourself :)
Hi again .) You are going to enjoy that little creature, just wait and see :) Ulla
Oohh Maxo! You are so cute 😉 let me know.. what language did you use when talking to him @delishtreats😉 funny that he like playing with mud but hayes shower 😁😁 that looks like a lil boy who is prohibited from having anothet cup of icecream 😀😁
He is a Slovak boy so I spoke Slovak to him but when I was around my husband I spoke Dutch to him too. He seems to be multilingual lol :D
Hahaha, it's so much fun to give him a shower. And it's even better when he wants to dry himself. It's a pity I didn't take a video of it..
Thank you for stopping by Cici :)
