I have to be honest, I've been letting all the FUDsters get me down when it comes to Steem. I wasn't planning on powering down, but I was considering selling all my liquid Steem into another project... probably Ethereum.
However, today my bullishness has been rejuvenated.

So it appears that PALNet has created their own version of Steemit.com running in tandem with the main chain and website: https://www.palnet.io
It's clearly a clone of Steemit. I'm sure they'll customize it a bit more later. So why am I bullish about this? Well, besides getting free money it also shows how easy it is to run their own Condenser node.
Condenser
As I am slowly starting to grasp (don't quote me) the Condenser node is the centralized mothership node that has a lot of important functions. I believe that the Condenser node creates every single block on the chain. The witnesses are just there to sign them and make sure Steemit Inc. isn't breaking the rules.
Clearly, many of us are vastly underestimating the value of MIRA, because now that it is up and running, running a Condenser node no longer costs and arm an a leg. This is going to vastly increase our ability to decentralize the power structure of the platform.
I was very up in arms about the new economic incentives, but this development shows how easy it will become to fork/clone the platform if need be. Steemit Inc. is bringing a lot of value to the platform, and so is PALNet.
PAL
These guys made MinnowSupport, SteemMonsters, SteemEngine, and now PALNet. Clearly, they are bringing a lot of value to the space for everyone. This is commendable, and they deserve our support.
I just used SteemEngine for the first time ever. I deposited Steem into the Engine, they took their 1% fee, and used my Steem Pegged (steemp) coins to double down on the airdrop and add some liquidity to the market. My limit order to buy at 0.111 has already gone through and I powered everything up.
I don't know what PAL does or what it's going to do, but I'm glad I have 1950 of them :D
If the market gets flooded with sell orders I still have 300 more liquid Steem on my account reserved for the possible airdrop flash crash.

I'm so happy that you've taken a look at this and brought your critically thinking self around for a try <3 There will be lots to come, with a visual refresh, and new ways to move around the platform. I'm excited to see you've tried it out. A good way to think of it is like a companion and expansion to Steem!
Everything you do here will be reflected on Steem interfaces as well; if you hold PALcoin staked, it's like powering up your Steem into SP. It will allow you to allocate rewards in both tokens while voting on content all over this front end, and all Steem front ends if the palnet tagged is used. Overall, we're just really excited to try to get people excited about engaging, sharing, and being social again. It's a big experiment that we're pretty stoked to be be a part of, so thanks for taking a chance on getting excited with us!
The whole concept of Peace, Abundance, and Liberty is the lifeblood of the entire cryptosphere. It took me a while to warm up to the idea that it wasn't a scam somehow, but I feel like PAL has enough projects under its belt to warrant more support.

Honestly, I get it. We're running this on Steem, and taking a look at what a new, old, redistributed Steem could be. We want to give people a fresh look at it, and a chance for many many people to join in and decide where this journey takes them, from the get go. Some will dump, accumulate, curate, hodl, stake. It doesn't matter to us, other than that people stop and think about it.. and then do it. A sense of purpose and adventure is something we want to try to bring back, along with a chance at the rest of the things we might feel like other interfaces are missing at the moment. Who knows? It's a grand adventure. I can't wait to see who comes along with us.
I'm curious. I've known you a long time, a couple years. You know I've been around MSP for that time. I just looked at my SE wallet, and there's no PAL there. Can you explain why?

Interesting article. I don’t understand if these are SMTs or Forks in the chain? Or something else altogether?
They are basically virtual second layer tokens created by a third party. They exist outside the rules of Steem consensus and are transferred and created using Posting key permissions.

The P -word used to be on my description. now it just says "continual writer". FUD is for the people who look short. The peaks and troughs of today are a nice smooth curve up 5 years from now.

Into Ether, lol why? I can tell you this, ETH is going to 6K! Maybe that is why your subcoinscious was telling you to swith, but steem is better & faster. You are right, now with steem-engine it is a whole new game. We are the new DAO now! Just out of curiosity how do we exchsnge our steem pegged back to steem? Just thought of this question, maybe someone an tell me before I go try to look for myself..
