So beautiful, the wings span the entire sky ! Big and bright and ready for flight * ___ * You know, some mornings I feel like this, like I'm good to take off and face everything :D It's a great feeling and I think your picture capture that very well ^ __ ^
I like the composition with the two wings forming an implied upside down triangular arrangement that helps the eyes come to rest on the figure at the centre (at the tip of the upside down triangle) and then I like how you offset it with the horizon line at the far end, it gives an illusion of distance and depth into the frame :D
Gorgeous gradation with how the night sky is fading away as the light of the the day is dawning upon the horizon, too... Love how the blue becomes shades of rose as it touches the line <3 <3 <3
Beautiful work, @scrawly :D This one feels a bit like one of those anime illustration feelings in terms of composition and colour palette :D But you marry it well with your watercolour style * ___ *
Aaahhh you get the idea that I'm trying to say here, with anime and watercolour. There are so many good anime watercolour arts actually, I'm a big fan of them and I wish I can draw something like that. This one is a start, I guess, but there's still a long way to go.
Whoa if you wake up feeling that way, morning must be a wonderful time for you! Thank you spider :).
I love the soft ethereal feel about this one @scrawly. One thing about IRL watercolour is the 'undo' button is simply that you CAN go darker but harder to go lighter.
You'll see, I think, that how you approach digital watercolour will be different the more you understand IRL watercolour. Or have you noticed that you have (If you've done any digital lately that is)?
Yes, I'm definitely more hesitant when I work on the light area in watercolour piece than the dark parts. And I hope I'm learning some good art skills that I can bring back to digital once I return to my familiar ground. I haven't drawn in digital for a few weeks now, I'm planning to do watercolour at least until the end of March. No special reason for it, just some kind of personal whim.
It's good to switch it up @scrawly I do both interchangeable often and I just have to remind myself when I switch between the two as I find myself doing an IRL thing on my wacom like going to wipe off a smudge or in IRL looking for the 'layer' button :)

Darker would look really nice if you're super careful. It looks brilliant as is, both figuratively and literally, that amount of white against the sky makes the character look like it's glowing :)
Hehehe yep. I can't disagree with you, I'm pretty sure darker ground will be better for this picture, only I have a strong feeling that I will mess it up.
It's kinda strange for me that traditional media doesn't have undo feature, because I learned to draw with computer so these days I am super careful and sometimes just decide not to paint a picture further. Some other times I'm braving it and it's a fifty fifty chance of turning good.

Thilah!!!!!!!! *glomps
Thilah likes angel wings? They're pretty, aren't they? I just love them, and the good art always make them look so soft and huggable.
Aaahh now I wanna see thilah's angels <3333.
I love this piece with the with the giant wings.
Time to fly indeed !
Flying always looks so fun in movies and stories, but in real, I actually hate flying. Maybe because I don't have wings of my own.
Thanks Jacey :).

Such big wings for such a little character. She's going to stand out from the crowd, that's for sure.
Ahhh I suppose they would if the wings are out. But the wings are magical so they can disappear at will.
Thanks trin :).
