Phase 1: Effect.AI Mechanical Turk
Effect.AI Mechanical Turk (EMT) is the first phase in the establishment of a decentralized network for artificial intelligence (AI). The Effect Network is a peer to peer, requester (provider) to worker marketplace. Work provided by requesters are termed human intelligence tasks (HIT). The technology is based on crowdsourcing that is made available to human agents who are paid in EFX tokens. Agents are free to pick up HITs at a time and method that suits their needs.

The Effect Network runs on the NEO blockchain. Requesters interact with the EMT platform for both providing tasks and retrieving results. Effect.AI facilitates data usage for things like teaching AI algorithms and scaling an on-demand distributed workforce. It also allows requestors to test plans prior to implementation.
Human Intelligence Tasks
As stated, requestors submit HITs for workers to complete. HITs point to data sets that require smart contracts to interact with the user interface. Minimum properties of a task include: URL, description, contract ID, blueprint (contract) data, Effect Reputation Score, rewarded EFX, number of ratings, rating timeout, expiration ID, (optional) sequence ID, and credentials that unlock private data sets. Smart contracts are encouraged, governed, and maintained for ease of use by the network. Funding new contract types comes from affiliate programs. Utilizing the NEO blockchain, the Effect Network builds a smart contracts ecosystem for AI.
