in #origami6 years ago

Start with the tesselation square shown here:
https://steemit.com/origami/@gmatthe2/tesselation-square-afc78b429eff8

image

  1. Stand each spoke up.
  2. Open the sloping edge of the spoke.
  3. With your finger holding the spoke open firmly stroke the top until it flattens.

image

  1. Repeat on all four spokes.
  2. Valley fold and unfold each edge one squares length in.
  3. Refold two adjacent edges and pinch the corner where they meet into a point.

image

  1. Open the point and squash fold into a square
  2. Fold the top flap of the previous fold in half back on itself. Repeat for each corner.
  3. Turn the model over.

image

  1. Valley fold each of the corners in half.
  2. Squeeze the corner in a sideways blink creating a little open mouth.
  3. Repeat for each corner.

You have successfully finished the model.

To reverse your shallow bowl mountain fold the walls and resqueeze the corners.

To open the secret compartment.
image

  1. Turn the model over.
  2. Unfold the flower at the base completely
  3. Turn the model back over and push the square in the middle until it sinks.

Happy folding, Grace.

The model above is an original design created by myself and all pictures were taken by myself. Let me know if you find any other cool things you can do with this model :)

Thank you again @bengy. Origami is something that I am passionate about. I love the different forms a single piece can produce.

Please let me know if there is a particular type of origami you would like me to make a post on.

Grace.

Thanks for bumping that comment up again, I had forgotten!

No there isn't any particular design that I would be looking at! The stuff that my daughter is doing is quite simple, but now that school has started, there is much less time to do these things with her

What an amazing post!! I've done some origami in the past, but never something so intricate as this.
I found you thanks to @bengy's Pay it Forward contest entry. Keep up the great work!
