Thanks for the Effort

I could have written a piece of how printing money is worthless or how buying your way to success is meaningless or wasting money on a mediocre card game isn't something to post about over and over again. But today I want to say something positive. I want to praise those people that can a little further than their own wallet and ego.

I want to thank the people that waste their time voting on the content of other people. I want to thank the people that spend a little extra time on crafting interesting and artful content that earns nothing. I want to thank the people that voice their opinions even though they are ignored. I want to thank the people that care even though nobody else does. I want to thank people that can think when they don't have to.

Without you, Steem would be worthless. You are the ONLY reason this network is worth anything. The value doesn't come from throwing imaginary money into imaginary wallets and delegating that imaginary money in order to make more imaginary money. Clearly, you see beyond that.

Without you, swimming in this swamp of mosquitoes wouldn't be as fun or interesting.

The effort you put into what you do will be worth it regardless of what anyone else does or however many people fake their way into prominence. Because the phonies will always be that way. And like fraudulent ICOs, they eventually collapse underneath the weight of their own incompetence and naivety.

It doesn't even matter if Steem survives or not.

So, thanks for the effort. Keep wasting those votes and writing those posts no one will read. Because even if no one cares now, it is you that is the future, not the leaders that claim to lead the revolution yet behave exactly like the people they claim to abhor.
