Steemit Open Mic Week 67 - Little Wing Improv.

in #openmic6 years ago (edited)

Here we go again, I can't think of anything that has been more challenging musically for me than just standing in front of a camera and playing knowing that people are going to watch it - too many years of bedroom guitar playing lol.

Thanks to @luzcypher and all of the others that take on the gargantuan effort of organising the open mic contests.

Very cool man, best of luck in the competition, I'll give you a full upvote tommorow, just waiting for my steempower to recharge.

I see your into racing, some sort of logitech wheel in the background?

Yeah it's just Driving Force but it works well enough for circuit type racing, garbage for drifting though. I mainly play Forza 7 but even that is sporadic, it needs new (old) tracks like Tsukuba, Fujimi Kaido etc, don't know why they don't hook us up, it's a pretty common complaint.

They are a great wheel for the price, I had one for a few years, but got hooked on sim racing and put together my own direct drive wheel. Assetto Corsa is my main sim, you can drift and really do a lot with it.

Yeah Assetto is great, tbh I like them all - Project Cars is nice too - they would win if the weather changed the environments somewhat - I mean, how can you have a thunderstorm/tornado and palm trees that are standing still? Ha, maybe next gen. Thank you for the vote Gyro, means a lot that people even watch and comment.

No worries great to meet you I know how it feels when you put your work out there for the world to see!

nailed it dude! great play'n, great tone

Thanks gibber, tone is simply guitar into a Boss Katana (with a wah of course), so easy to get good sounds these days, people are spoiled - hell, even the line 6 spider 5 sounds great 0 what is the world coming to!?

You got a really great sound man, really loved the take.
Don't discourage yourself just for the ''bedroom player'' thing, your musical background really doesn't matter if stuff that you do is sincere and you enjoy it.
I recomend that you throw those feelings them out of the window, you sound very good and I feel that you have a lot more new things to play and offer to us.
Congrats for this entry !

thanks @ale-tripoli I have always been a bedroom player/tinkerer aint really anything wrong with it apart from lack of experience/confidence. I have played in bands of course, I was younger and drunker haha.

Sounds awesome!... That remains me how much i want and need a fender! :D

I had RGs and Jacksons all my life, when I finally got this axe and plugged it in, It was the sound I didn't even know I was searching for - like in the solo to soliloquy: https://soundcloud.com/postalpro/soliloquy

Great playing man! You have nothing to worry about! You rock!!

Thanks @iamhbros, man I wish I had your voice - it's great. I tried a couple versions with vocals but... lol :D

Well done! Great improv.

Cheers proxy, thank you for taking the time to watch and comment on my posts, I have always wanted to be a performer but it's much easier sitting at home hiding from the world.. now I can kind of do both :)

Thank you @luzcypher getting a little more used to standing up now :) Still need to reign in my vibrato when the camera is on, get nervous and squiggle too fast.

A rather awesome rendition here, man! Now - if you could hang some vocals on top of that most fantastic guitar work - I think you'd be absolutely untouchable! Nice nevertheless - no matter which way you slice it! :-)

Yeah, I definitely lament my lack of vocal ability. Thank you for the kind words.

Classic song and one of my favorites. Good job man!
