OPEN MIC Week 39 - Casta Diva by Bellini, a capella version
This is my first submission for Openmic. I love opera and so I decided to sing this at the request of my biggest fan (hubby/ @negativer) . I wasn't sure if I could sing with a pre-recorded track or not, so just did it a capella.
I also play piano and sing different genres, so I hope to submit lots of other pieces in the future.

I thought about it, but wondered if that would be too pretentious. Opera can be casual too :D
Casual Opera!!?? LOL... I accompany at my local university for many of the opera and ballet students...could you come over and introduce that concept PLEASE!!!!

Haha! Ya, opera needs a facelift, for sure. I mean, I love the grand opera - big singing, big scenery, big hair - but I think it turns off a lot of people :/
I like anything musical...I love theater...I love good composition...I love orchestra...makes me into opera!!!
This is one of my favorite opera pieces. It's so dramatic and sad. I don't pretend to know the words (in English), but the emotion you feel applies to a great many things.

Great to have a fellow opera singer here! Do you post any of your singing at all? I think if you can sing opera, you can sing anything because opera is like the olympics of singing.

Yes, I took lessons for many years. It really took a while to find a good teacher too, I had about 8 total, and only the last one did much of value. Thanks for the complement!
