Steemit openmic week 102 : "Wild Women" - Original song by Ingrid Kornelia

in openmic •  2 months ago

Dear community, this week I want to share with you an original song that keeps returning to me in different variations. It might change, and I will eventually make a better recording of this when I decide fully on the form, but for now it is open and playful, full of possibilities. The strap dropping in the end was not a part of my plan, but it is fun.
I´ve been spending the last weeks in Kent, as applepicker at one of the many applefarms. I feel very connected to Nature here as there is appletrees all around me, and I thought what better background for a video than appletrees.

So here you go, premiere on my song Wild Women. Hope you like it.

Lyrics:

Living in a world that dont deal with emotions
forgot who you were confused lost, but never broken
I see the woman in you dont be afraid to speak yourtruth
speak your truth

Do you feel the power rising from the deep
its the woman in you
waking up from her sleep
shes been sleeping too long
now its time to sing her song, sing her song

cause we are wild women
rising form the deep
we are wise women waking up from our sleep
we are wild
we are wise
come alive

we´re coming from the womb
in the womb there is wisdom
savour every day withour hesitation
mother earth makes all things good
makes them blom as best they could
as best they could

Ladies we were born to deal with emotios
get them out of our skin and into the open
in my head everything is green
natur, nurture, love
do you know what I mean
do you know what I mean?

cause we are wild women
rising form the deep
we are wise women waking up from our sleep
we are wild
we are wise
come alive

feel her rise
feel her rise
feel her come alive

so lets howl at the moon
and run with the wolves
dance, laugh, and sing every day living our truth

cause we are wild women
rising form the deep
we are wise women waking up from our sleep
we are wild
we are wise
come alive

cause we are wild women
rising form the deep
we are wise women waking up from our sleep
we are wild
we are wise
come alive

we´ve come alive.

Thank you so much for taking the time to listen to my song @neymarth10, and for your kind words.
Love, Ingrid.

You sing with great passion and firmness, congratulations, also the accompaniment of the guitar has been very good, again I vote for you. Successes

·

Thank you so much @Rodrigo98, I very much appreciate your words.

  • Ingrid

I hope to see the lyrics as well Ingrid.
You also compose that song?
I like the style of the music. A little bit slow then getting louder a little bit.
Its kinda slow driving wind in nature the way you sing it.
Overall, you did it very well even if its on the spot song as it is still on the premier stage.
A beautiful song!

·

@ronel I updated the post, so now it has the lyrics also. Yes, It is one of my songs. Thank you, I am trying to beat my perfectionision by putting something out there even before I think it´s perfect, as I really want to share it also in the process of becoming.

·
·

Thanks for the lyrics Ingrid.
If you could summarize the lyrics into 1 single sentence, what would it be?
Sorry for the question.

·
·
·

Hmm, @ronel for me it is maybe that women need to trust themselves, and take back their power. But I think there are many layers one could make meaning out of.
Dont ever be sorry for asking questions! :)

Oh thank you so much!
That's a wonderful statement!
It doesn't mean that if you're a woman then you can do less than a man., right?
There were even President of a country who were women. In our country, two women already became Presidents, Aguino & Arroyo. All starts with letter A! So powerful!

Congratulations @ingridkorneelia!

@ingridkorneelia Wonderful song interpreted with your sweet voice accompanied by your guitar. I really liked the lyrics because it's about us women. The background of your video chosen by you is very nice because you are in contact with our beautiful nature and beautiful plants with imprecionantes and alive colors. You sing great. Congratulations for the great talent you have singing, composing and playing the guitar. I wish you the best of luck with your great song in that contest. Successes. A big greeting.

·

Thank you so much for your kind words @yeninsfer.
Love, Ingrid.

Hey dear ingrid :-) Very lovely voice and good choise with the background full of sweet apples. Keep on with the music darling. But why do you have spent time as applepicker ? Is this a voluntary thing, because you love the nature like you describe? Or a real honorable job. I could imagine, thats a hard work, with many working hours a day.

Greetings from germany to Kent :-)

By the way, you should also consider to upload you fantastic music to Dube, the "youtube" in the steemit eco system :-)

·

@avizor Thank you for your lovely words I appreciate it very much. Hmm, to your question, why not? Picking apples is a lot of fun, and you get a lot of sun. Plus apples are delicious when you get them directly from the tree. It is a real job, and hard work, but it all depends on how you choose to look at it. I dont mind it all, and feel inspired after every day of working.

Hmm, I will check Dtube out, havnt gotten so far yet.

All the best, Ingrid.

That’s an great way to think. I like your mindset, because you don’t annoy over your job.., like many others do. 😀. Instead you are having fun 👍😄!

howdy from Texas ingridkorneelia! I think this was a great song to play on the openmic because it's like a woman empowerment song. I love the words and love strong women and I feel your compassion so I think that's why the song works so well.
I appreciate that you put the words up too!
So do you have other songs that you've written and are going to sing on openmic again?

·

Thank you so much @janton. It is excatly what it was meant to be, an empowerment statement.
I have many other songs, and will try to participate every week.

·
·

howdy there ingridkorneelia! well you did a great job and doing it every week will be a blessing to the platform!

You have a lovely voice @ingridkorneelia. I love the lyric, it express so well about ladies. How long did it take you to compose this beautiful piece? It is magical to listen to you sing with your guitar. Have you composed any song before?

·

Thank you so much @oliviackl for your kind words. I love that you love the lyrics, as I am very critical of my lyrics sometimes. It took me about a few hours at first, and then some few tweaks here and there on the way. I have a lot of other songs I will share on the steemit..
:)

You have a rather interesting style, a bit of a bluesy swing with some old school vocal styling. It goes together quite well. The style was an interesting choice to mesh with the "strong wild woman" theme of the song. The through it in your face raw vocal power of the ladies of the 20's-40's really shines through in this piece. Then add in your own personal whistle tones with just a hint of falsetto and it brings it all together.

·

@coinsandschains Thank you, it is very interesting to hear your opinion as I am very much influenced by the singers of the 20s - 40s. Thank you for listening :)

That definitely is a great location for the song. This is a beautiful and empowering song, it has a great message it, I just love the lyrics of the song, the beats and the feeling this song brings. The expression on your face just shows how passionate you are about the message you wanna spread through your song, and your voice is just beautiful!

·

@audreybits Thank you very much! I am very happy that you like the song! :)
Thank you for listening and for your kind words.

Nicely done! I love the R&B/soul feel to it, it fits the song very well. 🙂

·

@heatherthebard thank you very much! :)

Beautiful song @ingridkoreneelia. You have a very soothing voice and your guitar playing is amazing. There is a Sheryl Crow plus Norah Jones feel to it. You are really talented, having able to writing your own song, composing it and able to sing and play it well too! I like the chorus, a statement there in our own right :) And yes, what better way to showcase the song than having an apple farm background where you spent your days there. Eventhough the strap dropped, you kept your composure :) I am curious about the apple picking though. Do you get paid by the number of apples picked or by the hour of the work?

·

Hi @marblely, thank you so much for listening d for your kind words. I appreciate it a lot. I am being paid by the amount of apples picked, so a few tonnes each day.
Hehe, I tried to keep my cool when the strap dropped. :)

·
·

:) Sing more, dream more, write more :) Oh wow.. few tonnes sounds like good money :) Hehe, you did well, keeping your cool. Else you have to re-sing the whole song hehe. Happy week to you @ingridkorneelia!
